It is like Homewood Suites. You can cook. It is right across from Higashi Honganji Shrine, and close to Kyoto Station. Excellent place to stay.

20 Pieces was the perfect hotel to stay in Kyoto. It was simple yet retro. It was peaceful yet spoke volumes. We loved staying here!!

Everything you see in the pictures is true. Fantastic rooms that kids loved bc of the bunk beds. We loved it for the lo-fi relaxed experience. Each staff is amazing! They are so helpful and courteous. A few blocks from the train station and super accessible via bus to town. Will stay again!

Perfect- can’t imagine anything better. We stayed in a B type room on 4th floor- fabulous view of giant temple gate across the street. Easy access from Kyoto station and short walk to next station for access elsewhere. Staff were perfectly friendly and helpful and spoke English very well. Thank you so much!

Room was perfect for a family.

We had such a wonderful experience at this property. Just under 10 minute walk from Kyoto station. The staff were incredible and had lots of restaurant recommendations as well as provided baggage storage after checkout. The room was clean and spacious. Also lots of great attractions within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again :)

Loved our stay at 20 Pieces, wish we could have stayed longer. Great front desk staff, comfortable and clean room with plenty of space (hard to find in Japan sometimes). Right across the street from a beautiful temple, and less than ten minutes walk to the train station. Would highly recommend.

This place was great. Short walk from the Kyoto station. Modern and clean. Spacious and we loved the queen size bunk beds and fireplace in the room option that we picked. The staff was very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay. Love the bathroom and the room was great as we could buy fresh food from the supermarket and cooked meals. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Will come back for sure! The area is quiet but still really close to the station, seems less touristy and the temple opposite is beautiful and peaceful.

My family of four stayed at 20 Pieces while on vacation in Kyoto. The staff was professional and helpful, and spoke English very well. The room was spacious and very well set up and comfortable. We will absolutely stay here again in the future.

Big room. Great for family travel. Like the kitchen and kitchen wares give traveler an opportunity to cook and try local food.

I picked hotels blindly based solely on walking distance from train stations and budget. So, what a surprise this fabulous hotel was. Yes, the location was great particularly for a trip like ours where we wanted to see everything (hah! well, we tried) and proximity to transportation was key. But the bonus was being right across from one of the best and least tourist overrun major temples in Kyoto - Higashi Hongan-ji and THAT was our world class view from our room! An open invitation to morning service at 7 a.m. and sitting with the monks as they chant beautifully was an experience to be remembered. The room itself was amazing. Those were luxury bunkbeds - super comfortable and great sheets and pillows. ALL the amenities were top notch and luxurious from the kitchenette with a big sink, induction cook top (I think, we didn't actually cook because, hey, vacation), the high end kettle, etc; to the dyson hair dryer ... which brings me to the bathroom. I weep for having to leave the bathroom. OF COURSE the toilet was great. But the wet room shower and soaking tub after walking miles and miles all over this amazing city was bliss. The staff was very helpful. They straightened out a major duty free mess for us, recommended good sake, and loaned us artisan quality sake set to drink it in! The washer and dryer was a great bonus, too. We stayed in three other hotels during our trip. All were good but this was the roomiest, best appointed, most unique, and best staffed.
