The second time staying in this hotel and for the first time in 46 years of travelling I saw a bed bug on the pillow as we were checking out and had spent the whole night in the room😡😩 Room 102. This discovery was both shocking and deeply distressing as we were on our way home from a 3 week holiday. The hotel has a duty to provide clean and safe accommodations, and the presence of bed bugs is a clear failure to meet even the most basic hygiene and safety standards. This incident has caused significant inconvenience and worry, as we now must inspect and treat my belongings to ensure no infestation follows us home. We have asked for compensation and   A detailed explanation of how this issue will be resolved and what measures they will implement to prevent future occurrences.     Now we have the stress, and expenses incurred as we have to continue to make sure our house is bug free. We are also afraid to put up our Christmas decorations which normally take us over our whole house😕

When front desk gives out last band-aid they need to replenish them.

I always enjoy staying at La Quinta in South Bend. Wonderful service, good breakfast with eggs, sausage and waffle maker. Coffee in lobby all day. Always my first choice to stay here when i travel to SB for work.

When I checked in the front desk staff was less than friendly. Upon arriving to my room, there was no remote, the shower was subpar and the hallway smelled like weed. I went to the front desk to get a new remote, the staff was super rude about it. All night long the hallways were super loud. The next morning the alarm in the room started going off along with multiples down the hallway. Clearly no one was staying in those rooms because they went off for over an hour. There was no hairdryer in the room and again the front desk staff could care less. Nothing to drink with breakfast and the breakfast that was out (eggs and sausage) was cold. This establishment definitely left much to be desired.

We were there for the ND football game

Excellent hotel....every area was very clean every day that we were there. The breakfast was adequate with a number of choices available. Well stocked breakfast area and exceptionally clean.

Would never stay here again. Bed was rock hard. They allowed a kids birthday party to be held here. Elevators were sopping wet. A pile of towels were left in the hallway. A woman slept in the lobby for 2 nights.

Everything about this hotel was very nice and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would do it again.

Hotel was nice. Rooms are updated and clean. Breakfast was good. Room was not cleaned while we were there so we had to get our own towels from the front deak for day two.

Very nice hotel and a perfect stay. The area is just a little run down. Outside our window is another motel type place that looks really rough. And in between an old parking lot. Not the hotels fault but the other motel looks like a place where drugs and hookers might be. Really rough. But this place is great! Breakfast and room service maids were great. Very clean and very easy to get in and out.

Lovely, perfect stay

Far away from most things.

Nice hotel. One negative, the building is, apparently a wooden structure, and thus is more noisy. You hear people walking on the floor above. You hear people talking in the next room, and due to a large crack under the door, you plainly hear people talking in the hall.

Good stay pool was freezing. That was the main reason for staying was just to relax and swim, but the pool was way too cold.

Vending machines never work

Great place to stay in SB. Many close by dining options and fast food as well as easy access anywhere.

Clean, modern, and comfortable. We enjoyed the King Suite very much. Plenty of space and 2 flat screens works for me!

The empty lot next to the hotel could be cleaned up a bit

About 2 miles from Notre Dame. Clean, nice hotel. Lobby is decorated in ND everything. Great place to stay before the game

The hotel was very clean, staff were nice, and the decor was university of Notre Dame (which we loved)! The rooms were comfy and clean. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance. We would stay again!

Nothing was unique.

Check in could be done online before arrival, meaning all I had to do was say my name and was handed the room key. Our room was large and very quiet. Breakfast was good with muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage links, waffles, coffee, juices and more. Very nice stay.

In South Bend on business. Very comfortable stay

It was absolutely filthy. I don’t know what standards others have but we stayed here and checked out early and went to another hotel.

Second time staying. Great location and friendly staff.

The hotel is very good and I don’t have any complaints except the chemical smell that’s everywhere in the building including the room. I’m sure is something related with a cleaning or AC, I don’t know but is very noticeable and strong. We’re party of 4 and we all had the same unpleasant reaction. Other than that, absolutely no complaints at all. Hopefully other guest has the same complaint so the management can do something about it. I’m sure is an easy fix, just switch the product with such a peculiar and strong smell.
