Bathroom tub drain didn’t drain well

convenient location to Downtown and the museum. only 'gripe' would be room could use a ceiling fan and a window that opens to let in fresh air.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Avanti home, the seaton room with the view of Studebaker museum.

I recommend this house for everyone who wants a quiet place to stay the night.

Always clean and with good directions to find it.

If you are looking for a nice place to sleep, this is the place for you. They have a kitchen and a bathroom that are quite small but do their job. It’s clearly an older house, but is really well maintained. Everything was clearly labeled and it’s easy to find your room. Only thing is you have to deal with other people, so if you are expecting a house to yourself you would be wrong.

Stayed in The Loft at 131 Chapin. Code access worked perfectly. Extremely clean. We were happy to have a decent sized refrigerator to keep tailgate food cold. Loved having a Keurig in the room and microwave. We had everything we needed in this spacious and charming loft. Loved it.

Clean and comfortable

I am familiar with the area and this house was convenient for everything I needed while I was in town.

I liked the house, very clean, safe, interesting and comfortable. The check in instructions were written for someone who was familiar with the house and rooms. The very nice guest in room #7 helped a lot. Cassandra was very good, and nice.

Don was welcoming and gave us a quick tour and some site seeing ideas.

It was very cute! It is an older house so the floors creak, the only issue we had was someone turned the AC off at one point and our room got pretty warm becsuse it was a shared temperature.

Nice quiet lodging at a reasonable rate. We attended the Ohio State vs. Notre Dame game ... convenient drive to the football stadium.

It's a little "old-fashioned boarding house" mixed with AirBnB, but it really is worth a stay in this historic house, turned hotel. It's not a traditional hotel, with a check-in desk and staff in-house, and it's an old house with smallish bedrooms, shared bathroom facilities, and creaky wooden floors and stairs. I thought it was charming enough to make up for it. The house is chocked-full of memorbilia for the Studebaker Avanti automobile - advertisements, new articles, art, models, photographs. An irreplaceable collection. Located across the street from the Studebaker museum and within walking distance of the South Bend Cubs baseball field and some restaurants and breweries.

The only down side was the size of the bedroom which is typical of bed and breakfasts. We really appreciated the new bed and personal attention.

The property was as described. It had a lot of memorabilia related to the Avanti. There were simple selections for a self serve breakfast and snacks. There was a medium size fridge in our room. The queen bed was very saggy in the center. My husband slept there. I slept in the twin bed which was better, but I had air blowing on my face everytime the ac kicked on with no way to adjust the vent. There was a nice sitting room available.

This place was amazing and so was the couple that owns it. They made me feel right at home, not at all worried about staying in a place with others and comfortable right from the start. It was so cozy i didn't even feel like I was traveling. Loved all the cars and decorations of the home. Will definitely stay again!!!!

Our stay is good, just a side note from the age of the building stepping on some areas of the floor has a bit squeaky noise but overall the place is quiet and have a very historic museum on the ground floor.

It's a very beautiful home. Very quiet and peaceful. Exactly what I needed for a few days.

It was quaint

Wonderful place to stay. We really enjoyed out visit. We enjoyed it so much we are going back at the end of the month. I had neck surgery and asked for extra pillows, the staff went out of there way to find and bring me the extra pillows.

Location across from the Studebaker museum was great.

Don and cassandra are amazing. The property is very well located as well as being a mini avanti museum. It was quiet. Well maintained. Overall i just really enjoyed my trip and the avanti house was a huge part of it

For an older house, very efficient. All rooms were super clean. The best part was its use of historic details to chronicle the time period of the Studebaker/Avanti connection. Little things, like the doorknobs, towel racks, wood molding, light fixtures, themed coverlets, framed pictures and articles on walls, even the sink skirts (!) added to the charm and character. Convenience to University of Notre Dame campus was a huge plus for me. Contact with owner was easy. She returned my texts/emails quickly while being friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at The Avanti House next time I am in South Bend area.

Room #4 AC not good. Room gets afternoon sun and small vent not enough cool air.
