Our stay at Pianelle Resort in Matera was exceptional. Its prime location in the heart of Matera's Piazza San Pietro Caveoso was unbeatable. The hotel's modern design seamlessly blended with the ancient surroundings, and the breakfast surpassed all our expectations. What truly stood out was their proactive approach, arranging off-site parking and a stress-free shuttle service for us before our arrival. Our room was a luxurious haven with a comfy mattress, plush pillows, and a spa-like shower complete with bathrobes. A truly unforgettable experience!

Location is excellent. Stunning property that mixes history with comfort. Everything is new and beautiful, the bathrooms were luxurious, the bar/cafe and breakfast were excellent, and the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. They were very helpful navigating parking and coordinating a shuttle since transportation to the Sassi area is restricted. We wished we had booked a longer stay here in Matera!

Fantastic location and very modern rooms. The waterfall shower was the best shower I’ve ever had while visiting Italy. The beds were very comfortable and the room was a good size. Very clean as well.

I wish the windows had screens on them so we could keep them open as the room got quite warm in the evenings and there was no AC.

Wonderful re-imagining of ancient structures with modern fittings and conveniences. An overall elegant experience, enhanced particularly by the kind and welcoming staff who took the extra steps to make our stay perfect. A magical stay, in a pretty amazing town.

This place is unique, one of the best stays. The location is nice, the staff are very professional and friendly. Special thanks to Ediolla for everything. We enjoyed our stay here and I'm coming back for sure! There is nothing to complain about, the room is amazing the view is outstanding and the bed is very comfy.

I wish they can add coffee in the room and maybe change the breakfast menu a bit. But nothing extreme really!

Brand-new hotel just opened in August. It incorporates the atmosphere of a cave dwelling, a traditional Matera feature, but the room is very sophisticated and equipped with the latest control technology. Everything from the tasteful decor to the wonderful staff (helpful and friendly, yet professional), cozy room, soft and snugllable towels, sophisticated facilities, and excellent breakfast was superb. The location is right in front of the Piazza San Pietro Caveoso, where buses and cabs enter, so you don't need to climb up and down the stairs lugging heavy luggage around. Erica, the Room Division Manager, spoke excellent English and was very attentive to my needs, including sightseeing and arrangement of taxi. If you ever come to Matera, definitely book this hotel. Highly recommended.
