Villa La Palma was magical. The villa is 308 steps down from the street so it is not for the faint of heart, although bags are handled by the owner’s son, a nice young man. The villa is totally private from all areas and we took it for just the two of us because we wanted to be able to enjoy with little clothing. The views from everywhere are beyond stunning and the pool area (not heated) has a magnificent view. We chose the “Captain’s room” which is the only one up-top, has privacy and looks like a ship. Opening the “hatches” in the morning to the breathtaking Mediterranean view was spectacular (aircon worked great to keep us cool). The house is not formal, but instead very comfortable and although the kitchen is “funky” to navigate, it was the heart of the home and made us feel like we were in a true Italian home when we cooked. A washing machine but no dryer, although hanging clothes on a line for that sun-dried scent is so Italian. There are animals on the property taken care of by Grandpa (no smells), and we loved the turtle fountain with 8 happy turtles to greet us each day. You can fit a lot of people into this property, but the joy was having it all to ourselves. Guisey, house manager (and daughter) was as lovely and gracious as you can imagine and made us feel as if it were our home. She brought us fresh eggs from the chickens and greeted us with food and champagne. Dad owns a restaurant in Amalfi with the best pizza you’ll have in your life! Go now!

The Villa is absolutely beautiful! The aroma of honeysuckle when approaching the front entrance is amazing. Flower & fruit trees abundant everywhere. The views of the coast and the town of Amalfi breathtaking! A lot of areas throughout the house to sit and relax with a glass of wine or expresso. Nono arriving each morning to tend to the gardens and pigs was very heartwarming. Such a lovely & kind man who is very humble and proud of his home. He was so happy that we enjoyed our stay. Our entire family (adult children in their 20's-30's) had a memorable time...As I've said to family & friends, it was a lifetime experience that I feel so fortunate to have had! Some of the bathrooms could use an update, especially the shower/bathtub and the mattresses on some of the beds were not very comfortable and should be replaced. Some of the furniture and decor also warrants an update. Be prepared though to spend a lot of money on transportation. Unless you only plan on walking down 800+ steps to town or 200+ up to the top to dine or take the local bus, taxi service to surroundings towns & excursions was costly. Not sure if the personal chef that came to the villa to cook a meal for us was worth it either ($140/per person, not including wine and extra fees to transport chef & food to villa). Francesco was very very helpful throughout the planning process of the trip as well as during our stay. He was always available to assist us! All in all, a wonderful time spent on the Amalfi Coast!

The company was very cordial and respectful. Could not speak more highly than SMAAC though.
The only issue was with the owners of the property, they were very slow in response and tried to double the city tax.

Words cannot do justice to the beauty and thoughtfulness that went into creating this cozy haven. The moment I stepped inside, I was instantly struck by its charm and attention to detail. The interiors were tastefully decorated, showcasing a perfect blend of local traditions and modern comforts. It was clean, spacious, and fully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
One of the highlights was the breathtaking view from the private balcony. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, while taking in the scenic beauty and immersing myself in the peaceful ambiance.
The host, Giusy, deserves special recognition. She was incredibly friendly, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was nothing short of exceptional.

I would like to personally thank Giusy for helping us plan our wedding and supervising the event. The house and location were stunning. Giusy made everything easy and relaxed.

WOW WOW WOW! If you are considering staying here. DO IT. Giusy and her family are truly some of the best most genuine people we have ever come across in our lifetime and have the biggest hearts. All 15 people that stayed with us said it was a trip and house of a lifetime and checked all the boxes of a dream vacation and wedding. Giusy had the house stocked and very clean when we arrived and if we needed anything she was on top of it. I actually had my wedding here and her family made magic happen on that day!!! They worked there butts and my child adored them too! He was pulling them on the dance floor throughout the night and they all danced with my family. They truly are special people and have a special place in my heart. The rooms are beautiful and the whole property is breathtaking.
The night of my wedding we had the chef come in to cook and hands down the best food we had our entire trip. We went to Rome after our stay in amalfi and still nothing compared to the food we had cooked for us that night.
I truly recommend this house and this family.
We also worked with Francesco from the very beginning for all of our transport, boat excursion, wedding set up, and anything else we needed and I couldn’t recommmed him enough! They were so professional and on top of everything. All of our drivers to and from the villa and to the boat were funny and so personable.
If you book this trip please give them all a hug for me.

We rented the villa as a group of friends and had an amazing weekend. The views of the coast are truly stunning. The rooms are all spacious and comfortable. The outdoor areas are lovely. And the villa hosts are so kind, friendly and helpful. The long, steep walk to/from Amalfi is a challenge but allows for a nice quiet location. On the whole we cannot recommended the villa highly enough.

We had a large group of 17 with five families visiting.
The property was as advertised and was clean with beautiful views.
The only issue we encountered were physical limitations with the stairs both getting down to the house as well as walking down to the town.
Be prepared! There is no access other than the climb down & up, there is no shuttle!
The property managers were very useful in organizing a boat tour as well as a private chef, we would highly recommend taking advantage of this it was the highlight of our trip.

If you can brave the 300 steps to the Villa, which really isn’t that bad, but not for the physically handicapped, it’s pure paradise. There is a luggage lift that can be used but does not cover all the steps so you have to walk about 100 steps of the full 300 which is a bit tricky at spots. But boy oh boy, it’s an amazing rustic Villa with tons of charm. The views are spectacular. The rooms super comfy. Lots of private little areas to sit around the grounds. We were 12 people and you never had to see anyone if you didn’t want to. We had breakfast and dinner prepared every day for us which was spectacular. Chef Tony is beyond talent. Sonya and Anna were incredible. We opted for the groceries to be purchased and delivered which is a definite must because there isn’t near by grocery store and you would have had to carried it all down the steps on your own. Nonno (grandpa) walks the grounds during the day caring for the gardens and pool but he’s soo quiet you never really know he’s there. All the food Chef Tony prepares comes from Nonno garden he picked that morning. Giusy, the manager, which is Sonya daughter, is the sweetest and runs the operation. A very impressive young woman. On hand by phone when needed.
The entire family is amazing and the Villa is well worth the experience. We highly recommend 5 star rating.

This Villa was simply amazing along with its endless movie style panoramic views. We had rented the entire property for our family and it was the best experience we have had. The kitchen was a restaurant quality commercial kitchen stocked with everything you could need including a glass door beverage fridge stocked full of wine, Prosecco, waters, and soda. The family that owns and operates this property had asked us before we came for a grocery list and had it ready for us upon our arrival. Their daughter Giusy was our personal helper as she helped us order food most nights for our dinners as we traveled around during the daytime as we have a small baby also. Giusy arranged our dinner and delivery straight to our Villa every time (it was so helpful). Anytime we had a question or small issue Salvatore always helped us very fast. Salvatore’s father cleaned and attended to the pool every day and was very very nice. The stairs are a lot however they have three lifts to help bring people and bags down from their stairway at the top of the Parking lot (that is shared with the Hotel Excelsior). We had 10 people with a ton of bags in which Salvatore and his whole family handled this transfer for us (both up and down). They were unbelievably helpful to us.
We highly recommend this property to anyone wanting luxury accommodations with amazing personalized service!

The villa is amazing! When you arrive you remain speachless just seeing the view! Amalfi Coast is a great location for the summer holiday, the girls from the location were waiting for us and helped us with the luggage. We had to take the stiars but they were not so bad especially because we need to do it oance per day. The pool is great, also the personal did the grocery for us and in the evening we ordered pasta/ pizza from the restaurant that is close by. We had an amazing holiday, we hope that we can go back next year! Congrats also to the owner, the garden is really impressive and well maintain! Thank you for everything!
The only inconvenient were the stairs, but at least we have the elevator for luaggages so in the end it was not so bad. We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Gioiello!

The house is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. Amazing views from every level and more than enough space for our group of 8. You could have 100 people in the outdoor areas and not feel crowded. The steps down to the water were a great workout and we actually enjoyed walking up from Amalfi and jumping into the pool. Teresa, Norman and the entire staff were so accommodating, helping us book multiple dinner reservations, private transfers, a boat day, and a private chef. Teresa was a pleasure to work with.
Hot water in one of the bathrooms did not work for the week, but with 9 bathrooms to choose from, it wasn't a problem.

I could not have been more pleased with this property. There were 15 of us and every one of us loved this villa. The stairs were awful but we knew that ahead of time. I personally took the lift and it was fine. It was slow but I would start out before the others that could do the stairs. We had a chef come in and cook for us one night and also he did a cooking lesson for all of us. This property is beautiful with flowers and lush landscape all over the property. The outdoor entertainment areas (3) were great to watch sunrises and sunsets, and they were spectacular! The owner of the property takes care of all the landscaping and he cleans the pool. Did I mention he is 80 years old? He doesn’t speak English but he is so friendly and happy every time you see him.
We would order food and Theresa would take care of it for us quickly. Groceries and wine were very inexpensive. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a true Italian experience. It is a great place to just relax, take advantage of the pool and just fall in love with Italy.

The best thing about this villa is that it has 8 rooms and can accommodate many people. The common areas and amenities are spacious and gives you a lot of flexibility for hanging out and for getting together for meals. Preparing food for a big group requires a big kitchen and the villa has a full sized stove with 6 hobs and restaurant style oven that heats up quickly.
Before arrival there were several people offering to handle transfers, arrange tours, etc. and it got a bit confusing on who we should coordinate with. Having one single coordinator identified up front would be great.

The villa is amazing spacious for a large group. Having the few of the ocean on every floor, bedrooms is breathtaking. The food delivery and list of groceries requested was prompt and taken care for our arrival. Be prepared for the stairs required to get to the villa.

Access to the property is difficult - it's 307 steps down from the street above, or 750 (or so) from the street below. From above, there is a series of 3 stair lifts that are very slow and a bit finicky to operate. They do not cover all the steps either, so you must go up/down some steps during your stay. That said - once you are there, it is a very nice villa and great place to relax. We were there with 17 people - the more senior of the group just stayed in the villa most of the time to enjoy the views and pool. The rest of the group braved the stairs - it was a fairly easy walk to town if you'r fit, and very easy to catch a taxi back to the villa to avoid the steps back.
Management was very responsive throughout the stay, whether we needed more groceries delivered, or food orders from their restaurant (which was very good and very reasonably priced). Someone checked in on us daily to make sure supplies were stocked or to bring us fresh fruits. They were also very good with recommending excursions or arranging transportation to/from Rome, Naples, Pompeii, etc.
Things that could have been improved for this this needy group:
1) More ice available when we arrived
2) More shampoo and soap for bathrooms
3) Pool water was very acidic and needed to be balanced (but it is such a nice pool!)
4) TV in main room was not working
5) How about some workout equipment since Amalfi roads are treacherous to run on?
6) Eventual upgrade to the stair lifts ;)
I miss the villa already and wish I was back there now. I would definitely stay again if that's an indication of the review.
