Templito - Ideal Sayulita Beachside Villa, Steps to Beach

This property was great with the awesome outdoor living space. The view of the water is smaller with a new house in front, however still had a view and great access to the beach! The beds are firm, I had to buy a pool float to use to soften. I have a bad back. The decor is great, quiet location, nice view! Would stay there again!

This was a first Mexico trip for my aunt & mother. My 13 yr old joined as well. It was my 6th trip to Sayulita. The house is beautiful. The weather was great. We used the pools everyday, and easily walked the beaches every morning. We ended up renting a golf cart after we logged 25,000 steps the first day. It made getting around town much easier. The beds were super comfy & the spaces with their own bathrooms was clutch. The kitchen was easy to make breakfast in each morning, and an afternoon snack.
Really wonderful staff. They were present but not obtrusive— and also needed! The main gathering space is completely open to the outdoors. It was lux to have someone come by to clean & tidy.
Thank you to the whole team. What a beautiful space.

I don’t even know how I can describe my stay. It was so incredible. My friend and I had the best time. The two separate houses/bedrooms, open air kitchen, the swimming pool, the view of the beach that was a two minute walk from our rooms. Could anyone really have anything bad to say when you see the beauty while relaxing. Walking to town, restaurants, quiet beach. The driver, landscaper and cleaning gal were all so sweet. I hope to be back

The place has some real old world charm, but unfortunately so does the bedding. Both mattresses were extremely uncomfortable as were the pillows. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but even a very basic modern mattress would be an upgrade here.
We were also disappointed that the dryer did not work and was not fixed, despite asking the property manager. This made it pretty difficult for us to clean and dry swimwear and towels appropriately for a beach trip.
The only other negative is that if you get any rain whatsoever it’s going to make it a very uncomfortable stay - anything in the outdoor kitchen area will get wet and there are some leaks in the ceiling in the upper bedroom house.
Overall, this place has the potential to be a great place to stay in Sayulita - the location is good, the pool is nice, it’s charming and well decorated, you have direct beach access, and the layout is definitely unique and good for what’s mentioned in the listing, couples and adult families. But I feel like just a bit more care and investment needs to be put into the property for the asking price.

We couldn't have been happier with the home. It was better than imagined with it's outdoor living spaces, refreshing swimming pool, and separate bedrooms/bath for my husband and I and our adult son.
The only negative is that there was construction going on next door. When we told the property manager Iris, about it, it was reduced significantly with only minimal noise each of the following days. Also, depending on who is renting the house in front, the noise level can vary. Half of our stay the house was rented with noisy vacationers, but half the time it was empty so it was very peaceful. Even with the front house blocking much of the view, we had a beautiful partial view to the beach to watch the pelican activity and hear the constant wave action, and it was a lovely immediate access to the beach. Great location away from the hussle and bussle of the town, but a golf cart is definitely recommended.
Iris, the property manager was fantastic and very responsive. We had a lot of questions early on because there wasn't a booklet provided as mentioned in the instructions. That would have been very helpful since we had a number of little questions.
We would definitely love to stay again in this home.

This was the perfect place for our stay the pool was great aside from a few missing tiles I sliced my toe on one once I was aware of that everything else was perfect. I would recommend wearing bug repellent I got bit up by something. The sunsets are breathtaking 😍 great veiws.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Having two separate sleeping suites was perfect. Gave you privacy. We enjoyed the pool and walking on the beach below. Iris stopped by and answered any questions we had. Overall a very wonderful home with lots of character.

We really loved this property. So close to the beach with outdoor living — the kitchen and living room outside. It also had breathtaking views depending where you were standing. Although the new build in front is definitely blocking a lot. But it was nice to walk down to the beach easily or to look over the veranda.
We did have a bit of a shock when we arrived though when we found that one of the rooms had been swept in and had not been cleaned. All the pool towels were also dirty. We reached out multiple times to the owner and hadn’t heard anything. We had no place for our friends to stay the first night. So they had to find a nearby hotel.
The next day we still didn’t hear from anyone but the cleaners showed up and we mentioned the mixup. They stated that they hadn’t been notified of our arrival.
They were able to clean everything up that evening. Plus they left us some yummy pico de Gallo and guacamole with chips.
We were surprised to never hear from the owner. We would’ve thought a credit for portion would have been credited back since our friends had to pay for another hotel. I still have not heard back.
The bedrooms were also very beautifully decorated with very cool artwork. We loved looking at each piece.
If you’d like a firm bed this one is for you. It was a little stiff to our liking and made some of my joints a little bit numb.
The AC was very nice to have especially on this hot period of the year. The room closest to the kitchen was a bit bright of a light on the AC machine when it was turned on though. I tried to block it with a pillow or so that I wouldn’t keep me up at night. But if you’re not sensitive to light or sound it should be fine.
Generally this property was heaven. You do need a golf cart to be able to get easily to town quickly which we actually enjoyed a great deal. There’s also a few fun restaurants nearby. We definitely would come back to this location and have shared the link with many people. It was a nice break from the busy heart of Sayulita. Highly recommend going down the path to the beach and all the way to the right to the secluded beach front. I wish we found it sooner as I would’ve planted a chair and spent all day there.

Beautiful property, the construction right in front of the site is unfortunate but out of the control of this VRBO.

We enjoyed our stay . The construction of the new home 20 feet from the pool was not acceptable and should have been disclosed

El Templito is a beautiful home just one staircase above a serene section of the beach. We loved the home; it's a short golf cart ride to downtown. Unfortunately the construction in front of El Templito (10hrs/day, 6 days a week of jackhammering cinder blocks) was more than we anticipated (having vacationed at other VRBO's in construction areas). I would definitely recommend this home with a little planning to do your site seeing during the day.

We were well aware that there would be construction, so we won't complain about noise, etc. There were crews there from 7am - past 5pm every day, but we also knew that, so no worries. We never got a check in sheet until it was too late. Would have been nice to have. There is no "booklet" at the house to define the ins and outs. Lots of things would have been good to know. The one sticking point was that the house was double booked. While we were relaxing one day, a family showed up with groceries looking to check in. We felt awfully for them. It was sorted out. The only other point I would make is I booked the house as a retreat for my wife while I worked. I planned on using the second bedroom for my "office", but there is no wifi signal in there, and the mini-split in that room doesn't keep up with the rather hot weather this time of year, so I sat outside to work with the construction noise. All in all, it would be a great place for a family or 2 couples as both rooms have king beds and separate baths. I would recommend it.

Super nice property with a great pool on the quieter side of town.

This home is stunning! The host, the property manager, and the house keeper were so easy to talk to. The individual rooms and open living area (including the pool and hammock!) were dreamy. We appreciated being outside of town a bit in a quiet neighborhood, while it was easy enough to make the 10 minute walk on the beach to get to a bunch of restaurants and shops. We also rented a golf cart for a few days to get around more easily and that was great. Everyone who has seen the photos I posted on my social media wants to know where we were and how to get there! Thank you Casa Mariluna and Sayulita!

We actually ended up staying in Casa Mari Luna the house right behind Templito because there was construction taking place right next to Templito. The owner was very kind to offer it to us for the same price. Casa Mari Luna is a beautiful home with gorgeous views. The indoor/outdoor living was very different and fun to experience for a few days. I believe it would be a absolutely wonderful in fall, winter and spring. Summer was a bit warm but the rooms had great a/c and the pool and beach were perfect for cooling off in the warm afternoons. The neighborhood was quiet and just a short drive or leisurely walk to some great restaurants and shops. Definitely recommend!

Indoor/Outdoor living at its finest. So beautiful best of both worlds having the beach and the pool. Private, clean, well kept, and has real Mexican feel with its decor. If I ever come back to Sayulita I know where to stay!

The location of these two properties is perfection for those who crave privacy and quiet, yet the ability to hop in a golf cart and enjoy all the action Sayulita has to offer in quick order. Andrea was so accommodating, and we will never forget her kindness and generosity. El Templito is perfect for 2 couples, or a small family with older kids. You feel like you're in the jungle, with views of the ocean and the open air is amazing. Mariluna was just...spectacular. All of it. Highly recommend.

My parents and I absolutely loved El Templito. The open air kitchen and dining area were amazing and where we spent most of our time. Although the appliances are a bit dated, El Templito has everything you need for cooking and dining there. The place was cleaned everyday (except Sunday) and the groundskeeper was there everyday to clean the pool and take care of the lush and beautiful gardens. The beach is literally 50 steps down a beautiful stone pathway. This part of the beach is quite deserted and peaceful. It is about a 15 to 20 minute walk to the busier part of the beach and to town where there are amazing shops and restaurants. I would strongly recommend renting a golf cart to get to and around town ($40/day). The only issues we had were that the property manager was not there to greet us when we arrived so it took us a while to actually know which building it was and where things were and how to work things. When I accidentally locked myself out of the room and contacted the property manager, she said she "had an appointment in Puerto Vallarta" and could not come. The wonderful cleaning lady came to the rescue instead and was there within 20 minutes. The other complaint (which is beyond the control of the owner) is that a bulldozer arrived during our second week to clear land in front of El Templito where a new house is going to be built. From 8 am to 6 pm it was extremely noisy, dusty and filled the air with diesel fumes. I hope the construction finishes quickly so other guests do not have that ruin the peace and tranquility of El Templito. Otherwise, I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend El Templito to others looking for a little piece of paradise in Sayulita!

Best place I have ever stayed. Open air living at it's finest. Air-conditioned rooms were great. Pool and beach were incredible. Would recommend this beautiful home highly. Great company helps too.

El Templito was an absolutely fantastic property. I shared with a girlfriend but it would have been more than perfect for TWO couples. The only downside for me was that there were stairs in the rooms.

We had such a great time! Everything was perfect with our own beach just steps away. If you're going to Sayulita, the North end of the beach is by far the best location to stay. Quiet and relaxing with the town only a short 10 minute walk on the beach. Being away from the hustle and bustle of the town was ideal. It was soooo nice to have our own pool to cool off and hang out in. The bedrooms had plenty of space, very comfortable beds and air conditioning. The kitchen was fully stocked which allowed us to prepare some of our meals. The entire process of booking the place and other services went so smooth. Rosie came everyday for housekeeping and Daniel took great care of the pool/landscape and brought purified water daily. Iris was very responsive to our questions. We used the recommended transportation service and they were also great. Prompt and on time with a stop at the Mega market to load up on supplies before heading to Sayulita. I would highly recommend hiring Chef Roberto to come prepare a meal. We had him come the night of our arrival which was great as we didn't have to worry about finding a place to eat. We requested a carnitas dinner and it was fabulous. If you like to fish, find Captain Regis (Sayulitalife.com) and charter his panga. He will give you an awesome day on the water. We hired Chef Roberto a second time and he prepared our fresh catch: fish tacos, sashimi, ceveche!! It was amazing! We took the short hike to Playa Malpaso where we were the only ones on this beautiful beach. We had a great time and Templito was such an amazing place to call our home for a week! We will definitely be back. Thanks Andrea for sharing your home!!
As far as covid testing before coming home, we chose to do it at the airport before our departure. Definitely the cheapest at $25 per person and efficient. Overall it took about an hour to get tested and to get the results by email. So make sure to give yourself the extra time.

This was our 5th time in Sayulita and we have stayed in various properties. Mariluna is in a great location with easy beach access. We only used one of the bedrooms but would love to return with a group to use the whole house. The kitchen/living area are all open air and the bedrooms are enclosed with AC.

El Templito is a dream come true. This place is magical and Sayulita is unique. Beautiful beach just down the stairs, it’s so isolated that it almost feels private- sunsets are out of this world- I don’t have enough words to describe the beauty of the sunset, the sounds of the waves, the frogs, and other critters; it’s just amazing. The rooms have AC and they are beautifully decorated with a Mexican bohemian theme. The outdoor kitchen by the pool is a treat. We spent hours in lounging by the pool. Iris, David and Rocio where very helpful with our questions and requests. There was a little misunderstanding at the time of booking but Andrea (the owner) made up for it. She was phenomenal with us- Andrea, thank you so very much for sharing your little slice of paradise with us! We all loved your house and the town of Sayulita

We could not have enjoyed our stay more. We extended it by one day and it still wasn’t enough time. This was ideal for two couples. We loved the outdoor living with ocean sounds and perfectly private spot one house back from the beach. We normally do not repeat vacations but this property felt so comfortable and cozy that if the owners ever want to sell, I’d be very interested in making it a permanent second home!!

If you want to get away to a peaceful setting where you can connect with nature, this is an excellent choice. You have a private pool and direct beach access, surrounded by beautiful trees and plants. It is very private, even though the living room and kitchen are totally open with no doors or windows. The two bedroom suites have locking doors for privacy and security. The staff are excellent and highly recommend the Chef services of Bertha! There are lots of steps, so it may not be accessible for everyone. You'll want to rent a golf cart for days you plan to travel to/from the central city.

This property is amazing. The house it located on the north end of Sayulita away from the crowds. The beach is steps away and never busy so sometimes it feels like you have a private beach. The beds were comfortable and if needed the AC works great! Having our own pool was probably one of my favorite aspects, plus it’s pretty private.
Thank you for having us!

We really enjoyed our stay at El Templito. The property is perfect for two couples with two private master suites. The outdoor kitchen and living/dining area was the scene for many sunsets, cocktails and lazy mornings. The pool is great for late day lounging or a quick dip to cool off after walking to town. Plenty of room for guests too. We rented a golf cart and highly recommend it. The daily room service and gardener were much appreciated. Be sure to tip well. They work hard. Iris the house manager was very helpful. She arranged to have groceries purchased and delivered before we arrived. Will do that every time. She was always available to answer questions and arrange drivers too. She also had two people come and make dinner for us. It was wonderful. Do that for sure. We would do that on night one next time for sure. The beach is just down a beautiful flight of stone steps and feels like your own. A few suggestions to make our stay a bit more comfortable would be new pots and pans (they are in pretty bad shape), some sharper knives and some foil or Tupper ware for storage. Luckily I always bring gallon plastic bags but those items would be nice to have. Also some shower soap and shampoo and conditioner fits inclusions for the nightly rate. We much appreciated the washer and dryer. We can't wait to return and share information with all our friends. Thank you to Andrea and her team. Such a tranquil home.

This property was a slice of paradise and even more than we had hoped for! Andrea was a wonderful owner to work with. Iris was so helpful and set up a few meals to be prepared for us and a massage at the house. The sounds of the ocean waves lulled us to sleep every night. We loved the town of Salulita and climbed Monkey Mountain, visited San Pancho, and Punta De Mita on day trips. At the house we enjoyed the amazing colorful local birds and the lush gardens on the property. We spent many days lounging by the pool and enjoying strolls on the beach.I cannot say enough about our time there and look forward to returning with some of our kids in the future!Blessings,Sherrie and James

Ahhh Templito! Such a magical place. We loved everything about you. As an avid cook I loved the outdoor kitchen, going into town for fresh food every day,and enjoying all the fresh flavors. So relaxing and so beautiful. The staff was friendly and helped us out with booking massages and anything else we needed. The sound of the surf was mesmerizing and so relaxing. We Will be back to see you Templito..stay beautiful!

Here's what you can expect when you arrive at El Templito: You will suddenly realize that you are in the middle of a jungle paradise. You will marvel at the beautiful views of the sunsets and the glorious sound of the waves just steps away. You will be amazed that the kitchen/living/dining area is open and surrounded by nature (and the pool). Let me tell you, there's no way that pictures can do it justice. It's beautiful. It's so tranquil and secluded yet the lively section of town is so close. We walked a lot but also rented a golf cart, which we recommend. The separate bedrooms were perfect. You can leave the windows open to hear the surf all night long (there are screens) or close them up when the a/c is on. The staff was super responsive. Most of all, we loved that our little family was able to get away for a bit and enjoy one another in such a magical place. Thank you, El Templito!!

This was our first time to Sayulita, and we could not have been happier with our location and home for the week! El Templito is like living in a treehouse. The only indoor space are the bedrooms/bathrooms, and the kitchen, seating area and pool are all out doors. Surrounded by beautiful plants and trees. It was beautiful and perfect. The location was also amazing! We didn't want to be in the town/city, but we were only a 10 - 15 minute walk away. We were also just steps from the beach which was exactly what we wanted. It was definitely one of my favorite VRBO locations to date!!! Can't wait to come back!
