We had a fantastic stay at Mercure Bologna. The hotel staff were all incredibly helpful, but a special shoutout goes to Giulia, who went above and beyond to make my girlfriend’s birthday special. She spent her Sunday helping me contact local patisseries to order a cake, even going as far as calling multiple stores and translating all the different flavors for me. She organized everything to perfection, making sure the cake was delivered to our room with a lit candle after we returned from dinner. Mercure Bologna, I hope you see this review and recognize the outstanding service Giulia provided!
The rooms were clean, spacious, and the bathroom was modern and chic. We also appreciated the water dispensers on every few floors, providing clean, tasteless water. The hotel’s location is perfect—right across from Bologna Centrale station. Highly recommended!

We were disappointed that smoking is still permitted throughout the entire courtyard space, which was lovely but the widespread smoking prevented us from using. Air con in room was insufficient and humid.

The room was excellent. Very clean, everything worked properly. Strong air conditioner. Super comfortable bed. Great location as it’s right across from Bologna Centrale and close walking distance from the historic district.
Best of all was Pasquale. We arrived extremely late (maybe 1:30 in the morning) and he received us with a smile, great information, and concern for our needs. Just a wonderful person.
And the quiet garden area is sublime for morning coffee.

Great location, directly facing Bologna Centrale station across the street.Very nice and clean hotel, new modern decoration. Nice and helpful staff. All good, except Breakfast menu needs some upgrade in selection of items.

The only niggle I had was that the bathroom door handle came off in my hand. Other than that the facilities were good, the room was clean and it was perfectly close to the station and the bus station.

Sort of a rundown that might be getting a facelift but it in our room. On the good side it is near the train station and the breakfast was expensive but very good. The internet was average and bed was large and fairly comfortable. On the negative side the bathroom is like from the 50s on Rte 66 could not even get into the shower. Tv did have a few English options but mostly just news, you can not control the a/c it was a tad warmer than I prefer. For the price is was not worth the money but does avoid a couple taxis if you have an overnight connection.

The convenient location was the biggest factor for my choice of stay at this hote since it is right across the street of Bologna central station. It is about a 10-minute to the central piazza. Clean and good amenities. Good wifi.

Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Hotel is old. Water pressure was less than a sprinkle. Wallpaper falling off walls. Sad hotel and honestly made my vacation less enjoyable.

We were only there for 12 hours due to flights. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We faced a court yard so no traffic noise but people noise. It was fine with the window closed. Our carpet was damp. I think they had just had it cleaned but we were there to sleep so no need to complain. We received our wakeup call at 3:00 as requested and the they called a taxi for us. I would probably stay there again.
