Second time I stayed here and this time not good experience. Waited in the lobby just to be checked in with no staff in sight. Once in the room the air con did not work very hot night with not so comfortable bed(which was two singles joined together)..

Second time at this hotel for location and comfort. On booking or at check in was not informed that the air con was not working as being replaced. Had I known this I would have booked an alternate hotel. The room was a sauna - went to reception and was offered a fan but this made no difference

All good, clean spacious rooms

On entering the room smelt very musty. The room was noisy, noise from room/cupboard/plant room next door throughout the night. Had to switch off air-conditioning as it was too noisy, then it clicked all night, which was even worse. Overall room was not very clean, bed not made very well, hole in the bedding and what looked like sick on an apparently clean towel. Very disappointing and would not stay here again.

This is a great place to stay just for a short break after my nephew married locally. Thanks for everything and for being so flexible as to move the booking date when needed.

The Link Hotel is a very basic hotel with decor from at least the 80’s. It’s more like a motel. There’s no hairdryer, iron and ironing board or safe in the room. The worst is it was a pretty hot day in July and all air conditioners for the whole hotel is not working. Only one window can be opened for about 3 inches. It was so hot we all couldn’t sleep.

The. Staff are fantastic, however the hotel rooms are very tired and the aircon not working.

Nice hotel. Room reasonably spacious. Good quality towels. Air didn’t work but there was a small window so thankfully the room didn’t get too hot. Bar area okay, service good. Overall very positive for the price.

We stayed on the ground floor but all day and night all we heard was floor boards from the room and corridors above, resulting in broken sleep.

Property in the process of a major renovation. We were in an unrenovated room that was showing its age. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

Good hotel for a one night stay. A little worn out in hallways and no lift but rooms comfortable and staff lovely. Good breakfast and all a good price. Across the road from the university so ideal for staying for events or other at the uni. Not far from M1 and easy to find

Comfortable hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. Problem with TV promptly dealt with. Very good buffet breakfast. We have stayed here several times and hope to stay again.

What makes the Link Hotel so special: All of the staff are great people without exception and this includes maintenance and cleaning staff. Really, they are helpful, friendly and responsive to any issues you may have. Here is a case of 5 star staff in a 3 star hotel. Special mention to Harry, Emily, Denise, Monique, Romana, Steph. Joanna on cleaning and Mark + Ashley on maintenance. Oh, and yes, the rooms are clean and even though the bathroom extractor fan didn’t work in our room, everything else was great. One of the Best breakfast buffets we’ve encountered anywhere. Would I stay here again? Without a doubt.

Stayed here as it was close proximity to Donington Park Circuit, and relatively close to Nottingham. Place had decent reviews, and was kind of cheap on Hotels.com. £150 for two nights in the middle of nowhere, without breakfast, on a Fri/Sat night isn't great, but then neither is anywhere else - this country has gone to ruin. I digress! The interior is a mixture of modern, and 1970s. The carpets in the hallways had tons of stains on them, not sure if bleach, alcohol, or blood. Every single floorboard panel creaked on the first floor, so much so that I genuinely felt bad for anyone on the ground floor below us. I was tip toeing around the room and still it was creaking so bad. The shower was like a light misting, not hot enough, and was leaking profusely out of the bath tap attachment. Good stuff was that we did have plenty of towels, had soaps and lotions, hair dryer, assortment of coffees, teas, biscuits, TV worked with decent features (news, wake up, radio etc), ample parking with decent spacing. Check in and out was simple, and straightforward. Never tried the bar, or the breakfast.

Checked in and was told where my room was located. On entering the room it was like I had walked into a freezer. The air conditioner/heater was broken. Returned to reception and asked for either a heater or another room. It was 4degrees outside and -4 in the room. The woman at the desk advised there are no other rooms available but will play heater roulette to find one. This she placed in my room saying when she picked it up it was very hot so should suffice. After changing the plug socket 3 times, I came to the conclusion that the heater obviously was not working as it remained cold. By this point I’m laying on the bed, with coat and duvet. Called reception and a lovely man called Andy said he will find me a room immediately with heat. Within 10 minutes he was knocking the door and I moved from room 133 to 122. The heat was a god send. Nice and toasty. My score reflects the lies told by the 1st woman that booked me in. the fact they knew the heaters in the rooms were not working, the lack of maintenance, I was told it’s too expensive to repair the heating, cleanliness, (there’s mould in the bathroom) and poor attention to make their guests comfortable. The food was mediocre to say the least with very little choice. Whilst it’s a budget hotel they can do so much better with the surroundings they are in and what appears to be not too old a building. They don’t even have sockets that accommodate chargers in this day and age (minor but important point).

The hotel was great and the staff were very friendly but there was a group staying at the hotel that were really noisy until the early hours of the morning which ruined the stay.
