The hotel represents very good value for what we paid (at the end of August). The staff at this hotel are excellent and it is a very good location for exploring the city. The breakfast is lovely and the rooms are cool, even in the summer when it is high 30s. I was disappointed with one thing: I was here with work and there are no irons allowed: you have to use the laundry service. Some of the interior of the hotel (not the rooms) need to be spruced up. Overall, if I come to Bologna again, I would like to stay here.

Hotel was in a really central position & within walking distance of the train station. There were lots of restaurants & shopping options in the area. Rooms were comfortable & the hotel had a great bar & outdoor area where we could sit, relax & have a drink at. Breakfast was a bonus & there were plenty of options of things to eat. Would recommend this hotel to others.

Amazing hotel with a ferfect location. Exstremely high service. Lovely when staff like their job and make your stay so ejoyable. Fantastic value for money - even in the bar where prices are slightly higher than in town but you get a much better drink and even the bartender makes you feel special. Highly recommendable !!! The hotel is perfectly situated for walking. 10 minutes from the train station, and then another 10 minute walk to the Piazza Maggiore. The staff were wonderful all around, no complaints there. The only thing that knocked it down a touch was the fridge in the room. The sound of it cycling overnight made getting to sleep difficult.

A classy hotel in the perfect location: easily walkable to the train station and medeival centre of Bologna. I quite recommend the hotel restaurant - the maitre d,' Fabio, is a class act and made my stay all the more enjoyable.

Quick stop over en route back to England.

Very central location, about 10 minutes walk to the main piazza and other parts of the Quadrilatero. Many historic churches and palaces, and two towers viewed. The hotel provided a nice respite each afternoon for us with a small garden. Our room was very spacious, clean and fairly well appointed. Thank you !

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, recommended lovely places to eat and drink as well. Our only issue was the air conditioning not being quite as dependable during the heatwave we visited bologna during. Otherwise a lovely hotel

A gem in central Bologna, a short walk from the Piazza Maggiore and located right on the main shopping street. Very friendly and attentive staff, on site parking in the basement (must reserve in advance), second floor cafe with a generous breakfast, including scrambled eggs and bacon! I expected nothing and found a lot.

Lovely hotel a short walk to the centre and Piazza Maggiore. Rooms spacious, clean and very comfortable. The Air Conditioning could have been a little better, however just a minor point. Hotel staff and service was excellent and a nice varied breakfast is available. Would definitely stay again if visiting. Thank you.

Rooms need a serious upgrade. More outlets, better beds, remove carpeting and fabric headboards. They are not pleasant and they are not good for the money paid.The breakfast on the other side was very good. Would only return if major renovations happen in the rooms

My room was spacious, quiet and very clean and comfortable. I had difficulty with the key and many attempts were required to obtain entry. I had the key changed three times. One of the attendants mentioned that some maintenance was required to the locking mechanism and would make a note of the problem.

Great location, many stores and restaurants. Closer to train station and historic downtown. But the property needs some TLC

Everything about Hotel Internazionale is quite nice. Helpful and friendly staff, large comfortable rooms, good breakfast, and easy walking access to the Centro Storico of Bologna (and if you want to walk to/from the train station to the hotel). The only thing that was slightly off was the AC, which in our room was fairly weak (the other Monrif, Royal Carlton, has the same issue).

My only (very minor) criticism would be that the breakfast orange juice is watered down ! I certainly intend to stay at the Internazionale again.

Very nice classical hotel in the most convenient location in Bologna. We received a friendly welcome and service and the breakfast was wonderful. Room bathrooms were very nice and tasteful although water pressure was week. Otherwise it is a short walk from the main station and located on main thoroughfare. We would stay here again in Bologna.

First time in the hotel; enjoyed it very much

I don't normally post reviews but had a major issue with this hotel. Spent 3 nights and didn't get much sleep due to the constant traffic noise as the double glazing was next to useless. No point having a comfortable bed if you don't get any sleep. Room had a shower over the bath which was not over the taps and therefore you had to stand sideways to get a shower as the shower screen wasn't particularly good. Breakfast was good although we did have to queue on one day as there were no tables and when we did get a table there were no cups and the staff were struggling to keep up with demand. On a positive note the hotel is in a good location and the rooms are big but a plug socket next to the bed would be useful. Overall Bologna was great but only let down by a lack of sleep which is what you expect from a 4* hotel

we didn't have a great start to our stay here as lock on our door wouldn't work & despite the maintenance team working on it for over an hour they couldn't fix it & nor could they give us another room in our category or considered an upgrade. each time we had to go in someone had to come up with a physical key, fortunately they still had the traditional locks as well. then we found out the bidet wouldn't drain so eventually they changed our room the next day. they were kind enough to shift our bags into the new room & left us a generous fruit basket as an apology, that was a nice gesture. overall the rooms are good size ( we had a superior room) but the hotel needs major rework. the pillows were terrible, very uncomfortable. breakfast was decent. they had a small garden where one could have a drink. we realised after leaving that we were entitled to a 20 euro f & b credit voucher which no one told us at the time of checking in so we didn't get to use it. overall staff was polite & helpful.

This is a nice hotel in a good location. However, the facility looks “tired,” and in need of some improvements and upgrades.

This property was perfect for a quick stay on the way home from our cruise. Super close to the Bologna airport and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area was a bit sketchy but we found some delicious pizza and gelato restaurants close by. In addition, we also found a hidden gem of a local restaurant that made insane lasagna verde bolognese. Our room with the king bed was comfy with a large 2 sink bathroom and huge shower and tub. Great air conditioning too. Our boys room had single beds since they are now teenagers and they need their own space. Just wish they had 2 sinks in the bathroom for them and it was a bit cooler for them but all in all we were pleased with this hotel and the breakfast that was included.

Great spot for walking the old city; the hotel is perfectly located and offers walkable distance to just about everything you can be interested in. A bit old-fashioned, which adds to the experience, the hotel is also well preserved and clean.
