Rates were not consistent with like rooms. Accessible room too small. Noisy workers outside window. Wasn't told it was a pet friendly hotel... noisy pets in hallway barking at 6am for almost an hour

This hotel is a great location. It is older, lots of light comes through doors, not the quietest. Cleanliness was mediocre. The viewing deck is on the wrong side, it faces the street side watching the homeless at the church and business building, not the ocean. I appreciated the free laundry facilities, however I recommend the hotel implement slot times as there are rush hours in the evening times and some aggressive individual and remind those using the facilities to clean up after themselves. I tried to get a table at the restaurant located at the hotel and waited some time for seating, ended up leaving to eat at the harbour. Location is great for walking and dining in the area however this hotel would not be my first choice.

Had good stay

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was bright and clean. However, there were fixtures hanging out of the walls and ready to fall off. The room was very small but guessing that’s because it’s an old hotel. Nonetheless it just makes it a little less comfortable than larger hotel rooms.

The hotel is a great location. Unfortunately, Lots of homeless in the area. Checkin was not very great, I arrived early, the front staff was disorganized one agent had a nose bleed made people wait around till coverage, and had to restart the proces, she forgot to order another customer his taxi after he was waiting a while and told another 30 minutes. They advised they could get me in rooms almost ready, cleaning staff was very behind and then room was not ready till 5:30 ( 1.5 hours after normal checkin) my room did not have a very clean floor, wish I brought slippers.

Neat location beside the water, shopping and points of interest. Easily accessible from the ferry terminal and airport. Downsides-- atrocity for parking! They have a parking lot, but once it is full, good luck finding street parking anywhere nearby! High homeless population and active drug use within very close proximity, so do not leave belongings in your vehicle. Positive-- they will cover cost of street parking within a kilometer of the hotel. Again, good luck finding a spot!

This is perhaps the best hotel experience I have ever had with Best Western. Every single member of the staff was a pleasure to talk with, and they are always offering to see if there is anything else that they can do to make our stay more enjoyable. Two restaurants on site and walking distance to lots of little shops and smaller restaurants. Rooms are of a good size and have spectacular harbor views! Little shops across the street around the harbor as well for Gelato. I sincerely hope that I get the opportunity to visit this property again! Special shout out to Snigdha who is a spectacular person!!!

Neighbourhood while artsy seemed a little unsafe. Lots of biker types in the evening and homeless folks in the area. On the upside it’s close to the seawall and playground.

We had a partial view of the water. Room was well kept and comfortable.

It is a great place with great service from staff. I will recommend the stay to other. Just make sure to bring your own slippers to the visit.

I like the neighbourhood and the staffs are really nice. The hotel is a perfect home away from home.

Everything was very enjoyable, although I will say that the breakfast in the restaurant was below par.

The Dorchester is a very nice Hotel. The staff were very good helpful and courteous to us. When we arrived there was a night market going on at the end of the street the hotel is on and the staff found us on street parking that was right across the street from the front doors. The room was super clean and the bed very comfy There are a few areas like in the bathroom that could use an update and the shower had almost no pressure at all We just wish we could have spent more time there as it was probably the nicest hotel of our trip

The hotel is located in the art district, in a very nice neighborhood with cafes and shops. Walkable and enjoyable. Staff and facilities were perfect.

great place to spend the night in nanaimo!

Perfect location across the street from Nanaimo harbour. Our room had view of harbour also. Parking was limited 2 small parking lots then street parking. Or park in parade down the street. Only thing we would complain about would be parking situation. Burger restaurant in lobby was delicious!

Hotel was wonderful and service was terrific. However, the onsite restaurant had a very, very limited menu and the food was constantly overcooked and flavourless.

It was cramped and weird. Not up to the standard of normal best westerns.

Great view and across the road from the walk around the harbour

You get what you pay for. The nightly price is affordable and relatively cheap. The hotel is older and probably needs some new paint and remodeling. The staff is really kind. They do try to accommodate when they can. Our first room was on the third floor and it was incredibly noisy b/c of the family above us with kids running around. They changed our room to the top floor the next day, which was nice of them. I don’t think they changed the sheets, it felt like there were bread crumbs in the sheets. We asked for room service and for the linens to be changed, but they never sent anyone. They were kind enough to give us a credit to make up for it. Also, the air conditioning broke down for two days. Although the staff was as helpful as they could be, I probably wouldn’t stay here again

great waterfront location yet not in a busy area suoerb service by staff starting with an email prior to arrival and a text message after we were in our room.to check up on us. enjoyed our stay and will.definitely return

In a great downtown location. Rooms were a little small and there was no view. Staff was amazing and the 2 restaurants were excellent.

Hotel unable to run either of my cards at check-in for pre-stay damage coverage. Both cards have large amounts available. Eventually, hotel acknowledged card was valid. I am disappointed in Best Western. We had stayed in the Dorchester fairly recently, as well as your Chemainus property.

Not happy parking so far from the hotel in an area reachable to possible break in.

The area and the hotel felt very European. Older property with character. Would have enjoyed a longer stay.
