We were laying down in bed when a spider egg fell from the ceiling. There were spider webs on the ceiling, the bathroom was dirty, shower as well. It’s an old property with very old carpet that smells and makes the rest of the room smell.

Way overpriced! $360 a night for a small queen room next to the elevator with a tiny bathroom with no door open to the bedroom. Seriously?

The valet staff was outstanding! Also, excellent work at the resort's restaurants. We did have trouble with both housekeeping (lack of washclothes), and the front desk (aloof). Still, this hotel's amazing location (so close to the beach) made this a special stay.

Room facing a parking lot. I booked for our wedding night. There was no special gesture of congratulations which could have went a long way. No turn down service offered.

The hotel was great. The restaurant at the bar got our order wrong every time. I ordered a salad and it came with chicken. She said I ordered it that way but I’m a vegetarian so pretty sure I didn’t. They took it back and just removed the chicken! The other restaurant didn’t do much better, check was wrong every time, the food was good except for the chicken thing.

This was a wonderful place to stay in east beach and great to be in the center of the action for Fiesta. The property is older like many of the Santa Barbara buildings, but beautiful and the staff was amazing. The pool was nice and warm and you’re steps from an amazing beach, the zoo, several playgrounds, and good restaurants. We took some of the bicycles they offer to State Street, which was so fun and played pickleball nearby. If you are there during Fiesta, don’t plan to drive, but would walk or bike everywhere.

Whati liked:
The property had a beautiful charm and elegance located infront of the beach. We loved relaxing, having drinks while watching the view in the outdoor area. The free bikes was an added touch to the amenities. We will definitely return.
What I didnt like:
1. We were a little disappointed the Tayst coffemaker didn't work. It had the incorrect pods. We just went to the lobby/cafe for complementary coffee.
2. Could have additional lighting in the room.
3. The water dispenser in Santa Maria building was not working. We went to the next building, i think it was Santa Cruz, to get water and ice.
4. The front desk indicated the drinks tokens was of any drinks, cocktails...in the cafe and restaurant. The restaurant honored it, but the cafe did not. 😞

I recently stayed at this hotel and had an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep.

The first room they gave us had an overpowering mildew smell that had my nose tickling within seconds of entering. After 10 minutes with windows open we asked to switch rooms. We were able to switch but to a smaller room that at least smelled fresh. What I thought strange was that when we told the front desk about the smell, no one seemed concerned or interested. No one said I’m sorry or we will check into that. We had the feeling that they knew very well this room was mildewy but weren’t doing anything about it. Aside from that issue, the staff was exceedingly nice and courteous during our stay. The pictures on the website look way better than real life. This inn is a bit worn and old but quaint and has a nice view of the ocean. Given the numerous quaint inns in SB to choose from, I don’t think I’d stay here again.

My family and I loved the greeting from staff. The bedroom was clean but had a weird odor? Other than that we loved how everything was so close by. The other bad thing was carpet.

Room choice makes all the difference here. Rooms can be noisy (facing road, fire-pits or pool) or dark and small (lower level facing parking lot) carpeting doesnt feel fresh. Air conditioning units were noisy and we had to have maintenance come 2x to fix the pump.

The property itself is a bit dated and rooms are unimpressive for the price. The location is great however and right across from the beach. pool had a convenient restaurant that brought food poolside and there is also a dinner restaurant at the hotel.

The hotel is nice and it was a lovely stay. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Just a few things to call out. 1) more towel bars in the bathroom and sink area would be great addition; 2) the walls/doors to the hallway are super thin - kids running down the hallways was really noticeable; 3) Can only comment on my room, but maybe time to update the mattresses, a bit like sleeping in a hole.

Unfortunately, this hotel is grossly understaffed and service is ultra slow. At dinner, it took more than 45 minutes for our meal to be served. I ordered coffee in the morning and when I went to pay for it, the server took about 10 minutes to run my card and bring me the receipts. There were no towels at the pool and when I went to the front desk to ask them to replenish them, it took 20 minutes for them to do so.

Everyone couldn’t have been friendlier and customer service excellent. The only 2 downsides were the restaurant Costa and when checking out the printer at front desk wasn’t working.
Both mornings we went to Costa for breakfast and my friend ordered a toasted bagel with plain cream cheese and both times it had to be re-prepared. Also, please use real Crab in Crab Benedict, not canned!
