Overall was a good experience. The property was remodeled and looks new (ocean side). I guess the personnel should be more polite. One day before checking out our access cards were deactivated. At the lobby the manager said loudy to the assistant “they pay until tomorrow. Activate the cards back”. No apologies at all. They just gave us the cards back. Also the maid followed us to our room to be sure we will give her the used towels back before giving us new ones. A little rude….

Outstanding value for the price. Restaurant was extremely overpriced. I would definitely recommend this place.

We stayed in the adult only tower and had an amazing balcony with a view of Los Muertos beach, the ocean, and the pier. The room was simple but accomodating. We loved the location!

Great property. Friendly staff. Will return

Great hotel, but it would be nice if the main pool was cleaned more often, seen nasty debris floating around and staff just standing and doing nothing about it.

When I checked in they tried to put me in a room on the lobby level that didn’t look like what was advertised. It had stained furniture and was load. After asking for another room. They moved me to a room on the 4th floor that looked like what was advertised. With in an hour the ac stopped. They sent a maintenance man to check it out. He literally just kept flicking the switches back and forth for ten minutes. Finally he got it to come back on low. And said not to touch the control switch. The second day I was taking a shower and the water shut off. Housekeeping found someone to turn it back on. Brown water started coming out and cleared up eventually. Great location and clean but over priced.

We stayed at the Vista Pier adult only part of the hotel and it was amazing!!! Ocean front with large balcony views of the Pier and stunning PV sunsets breathtaking from our bed. The hotel is brand new. We had Nepresso coffee maker in the room with 2 capsules a day and 2 waters a day and a fridge. The hotel is part of Delphin but it has an adult only restaurant which we didn’t go to. We visited the all you can eat but the food looked awful. The check in area is a large room with free coffee, tea, juice and pastries throughout the daytime. There is isn’t a public area to hang out which was fine cuz when we weren’t in our room we were at the local restaurants on the beach with our feet in the sand or taking a boat ride to Yelapa or taking the hop on hope off bus ride.
The hotel is located right in the center of Zona romantica which is vibrant and busy and noisy yet the hotel and pool is quiet.
The staff there was amazing and friendly and very helpful - we would for sure go there again and recommend it to others - it was perfect!
Pictures were the view from our balcony on the 3rd floor!

Beautiful Playa Muertas view from this waterside hotel. Close to many of our favorite restaurants

I stayed in the adults only side of the hotel. It was great. I would not recommend the family side. It is very run down. I would not recommend the all inclusive the food is horrible. The restaurant you pay for has great food. The hotel staff we all friendly and helpful. All the way up to the manager. The adult side is remodeled and has WiFi in all the rooms along with an ocean view.

The location of the property is amazing! We loved that we could walk everywhere and not need a taxi. Great restaurants and bars surround the hotel. We stayed on the Vista Pier side and had a beautiful ocean front suite. The room was very spacious, as was the balcony. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and people watched as the sun set each night, otherwise we weren’t in our room much. We didn’t eat or drink at the resort, as the prices far exceeded what we were willing to pay. The room rates were very expensive, but given it was Spring Break during our stay, we totally get it. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

The property could use some work. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and it felt very stuffy. The wifi only worked on the first floor and there were only 2 lamps to light the room. However, the staff was very friendly and I enjoyed the beach access.

Loved the location of this hotel. The pool area overlooks the Pier. Great place to sit, relax, drink and people watch. Loved the view from the pool area.

The hotel has been divided inton2 properties and if you book in the non-VIP area you can not use the adults only pool, all inclusive drinks are only available 10am-9:30pm (but after 7pm can only have and drink in the dinning area and must be with food). Rules seem to change daily on what you can and can not do. Staff were great but restricted by all these new rules.
It appears the new owners want to make this a local family friendly hotel and not catering to foreign travellers. Stayed here for 10 years but never again.

Last time we stayed there it was all inclusive, stayed in an 8th floor ocean suite! Very nice! Highly recommended

This property is located perfectly for all of the area walkable restaurants shops, history. The downfall is that the hotel is understaffed and in a decomposing state an example would be dead planters in and around the entire plaza, regular daily maintenance lacking however, the sweetest cleaning lady every day.!

All-inclusive guests could not swim in the good pool or eat ln the best dining room or stay in the rooms with good furniture. Those areas were reserved for not-all inclusive guests (and not very many at that). Our bathroom vanity had a beat-up front with shredded bare wood. That bathroom door loudly dragged along tile floor. They ran out of milk for coffee at 8:30 am; they had pancakes and French toast but no syrup; Bloody Mary’s were not part of all inclusive because they had no tomato juice; you had to ask for salt and pepper and your meal was finished before they brought it and butter was at a premium. There was NO furniture in the lobby for a handicapped person or anyone to sit and they removed all the cushions on the metal furniture for several days so you couldn’t sit down, anywhere. The only place to go was your room.

Initially I was put in the wrong room but then once the mistake was realized, I received the correct room along with two breakfast vouchers. The front desk ladies are very nice but told me near the end of my stay that they sell tickets to nearby events; I wished they had told me that earlier. Everyone was superb friendly and the restaurant had excellent food variety and great service. The beach and other restaurants are nearby which made it a noteworthy visit. I wish to return soon.

No longer the Hotel San Marino. The Maranatha Group purchased it in October 2023. The hotel is now two hotels: the Delfin and the Vista Pier. We upgraded to Vista Pier upon arrival, as Delfin room was below expectations (dark, noisy street side, unclean, unrenovated).
Delfin Hotel comprises the largest section of rooms in both towers, except for the Junior Suites and Deluxe Junior Suites (which are now the Vista Pier).
Pros:
- Great staff all 'round...everyone was very friendly and helpful!
- Location: in the Zona Romantica if you want to be close to all the action, the beach, the pier
- Complimentary coffee, agua fresca and pastries all day long (Vista Pier side)
- Nespresso machine in the room with coffee pucks replaced daily, along with 2 bottles of water (Vista Pier only)
- Adults only (Vista Pier side). This is only a "pro" if you're not travelling with children
Cons:
- Vista Pier is over-priced for what you get... 5 star prices for a 3-star room
- No table lamps in the rooms, only VERY bright overhead LED pot lights. At night, there's no way to have low lighting that's comfortable on the eyes
- No towel holders in the bathroom. Towels take up space on the bathroom counter. Wall-mounted shelving for towels would solve this issue
- Our room (for 2 people) only had one plastic faux-rattan chair on the balcony, which broke after 2 days and needed to be replaced with 2 sturdier plastic chairs
- Upgrading from Delfin to Vista Pier will set you back 1,000MXN per night!

The rooms are very run down. The sliding door was broken couldn't sit on patio. They moved us to a different room and the shower drain was plugged and it smelt like sewer.
The beds are hard as a rock. Ghetto property

The adult only, ocean front room was beautiful, clean, and modern. Naomi was very friendly but many of the other staff made us feel very unwelcome. Check in was the coldest, most unwelcoming check in I’ve ever experienced. The restaurants at this hotel were empty, the pool had very few people at it. The outdoor lobby was beautiful but there was a large exhaust fan blowing continually. This is a beautiful resort and has much promise but many of the staff appear unhappy.

Didn’t like the property very noisy and beds were very uncomfortable. You might as well sleep on the floor
4.0 / 5.0
The hotel is going through some changes, which is a little disappointing, as we love the old town charm, not a resort! However, the staff were all super friendly, rooms clean, and had everything we needed to feel at home. The view from the upper patio is second to none, but the planters did slightly impair the ocean view. Also, there should be a rail on the steps to get into the pool.

My friend and I stayed here for a week in November and we were in a deluxe suite in the Pier Vista adults only tower. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience. From check-in onwards the experience was great. The room was a bit sparse regarding decorative features, but it was clean with a superb view of the ocean. The staff, especially the concierge services, were fabulous. Being able to have a separate elevator, restaurant, pool and beach access were great and are definitely worth the added cost if you are looking to stay in the Romantic Zone and on the beach. The food at the restaurant was extremely good. I would definitely stay here again.
