What a perfect location for a quiet visit near the hustle and bustle of Rome. We loved the art, decor and the history this property had and really enjoyed exploring the grounds.

The level of service and attention to guests at this hotel is amazing!!! We came for our honeymoon (7) years ago and returned for our 2nd honeymoon this year…….Early to mid June is very nice…..where else in the States can you truly stay in a restored, historic villa that’s on the Mediterranean next to a castle built in the 1,100’s…..? The food, photos, relaxation and amenities are 1 of 1……Lord willing we’ll be back for 4-5 nights next time…… Grazie a tutti la squadra De La Posta Vecchia!!!

Beautiful hotel by the ocean but still so close to Rome. We had a great couple of days after all sightseeing. Service and everything else also top class, can definitely recommend La Posta Vecchia.

La Posta Vecchia is one of those very special places that you rarely stumble upon during a lifetime of travel. It is now a very special hotel with a limited number of rooms and is associated with the Leading Hotels of the World brand. We stayed at this absolutely special place in late September when the weather was perfect. The setting right on the Tyrrhenian sea is extraordinary and has been a vacation destination since the time of the romans. La Posta Vecchia was originally built in the 17th century and updated by J. Paul Getty in the 60s when it served as his personal home. It unlike any place we have ever stayed, and the extraordinary staff, food and easy access to central Italy made it one of the most relaxing destinations ever. We did day trips through Italy but were always ready to return for a swim and such wonderful food that we never wanted to dine elsewhere. incredibly special place.

Wonderful views, rooms and food was excellent. Would definitely stay again. Only complaint is that dining staff was inattentive at times.

We enjoyed our stay very much in this lovely place with very helpful and attentive staff. We loved sunset on the terrace overlooking the sea and the breakfast in the dining room was very special with a very good selection of food and very attentive service from the staff. Thank you very much to the very helpful manager, who showed us the Roman remains and was very informative and helpful throughout our stay.

Hotel and surroundings was great. Food was really great in the restaurant and Jay the restaurant manager was exceptionel. The wine list was so great. Probably the best we have tried in Italy. BUT the bar and the pool/snack menu was not good. They cocktails was made wrongly with missing ingredients and the staff was not reachable for any service. So you had to walk out into the reception to ask them to call the bar staff.

Most gracious staff and outstanding chef. The history of the property is so interesting and well preserved. The grounds are impeccable, the stay is a luxury.

We were completing about a month in the south of France and Italy with a short stay at La Posta Vecchia. We were welcomed graciously by the efficient and well trained staff. The accommodations, interior, grounds of the ancient villa are breathtaking. Exquisite in all details of decor the villa provides a feast for the eye. We do have one criticism however. The entree in the restaurant was disappointing. The waitstaff were all wonderful including the very charming and knowledgeable sommelier. We had ordered the veal Milanese and the pasta with eggplant and both dishes were underwhelming. We are discriminating in both cuisine and restaurant selections so this opinion is not given without experience. The breakfast was fabulous especially enjoying it overlooking the sea. Highly recommend a most exquisite stay at La Posta Vecchia.

What an incredible hotel and property! You would never imagine you're so close to Rome and FCO. I was afraid it might be a bit stuffy, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The house is indeed full of history and loaded with antiques, but the service and other amenities help make it feel lively, luxurious, and comfortable. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the ocean is a dream.

A perfect location outside Rome

Amazing hotel- top notch European luxury to a level that is not possible other than in the eternal city. It is built over an ancient villa, so you have an underground exhibit with fabulous original mosaics and many artifacts. Open air dining was out of this world. JPaul Getty used to stay here. You will feel like him, at least while staying there

Staying at the Posta Vecchia transports you to life in a different time.... While it has all modern convenience, the grand scale of the property and it's many public spaces makes you feel like you've slipped into a private villa. The indoor/outdoor pool is glamorous and the wrap around terrace provides unobstructed views of the Mediterranean.

A true 5star Hotel in the old fashioned sense of the term. Impeccable service, breakfast and dinner on the terrace overlooking the sea, sound of the waves at night through the bedroom window. Extremely expensive Restaurant serves cuisine novelle type food which was so-so and really not for meat lovers.

I can't say enough about how amazing this hotel is. My husband and I stayed in the Garden Room and we were very impressed by every aspect of the hotel, from the grounds to the service to the food.

Very private and wonderful amenities and food. Like staying in a private home.
