Dirty furniture in room. Slow service at bar. Convenient location.

The in-house restaurant seems currently quite disorganized. Customers witness difficult conversations between staff, basic items are missing (orange juice, sparkling water) while there are several supermarkets nearby. The check-in staff seems to be overwhelmed and to have other urgent matters to attend to than to welcome incoming guests.

AC didn’t work, had to get a new key card every time we entered room as the card reader didn’t work. Lightbulbs out in bathroom, fridge made a loud noise all night…. Etc etc

Enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Was assigned a smaller room than most (253), had an odd smell possibly because off the age of the building but was in a great spot for food and basic shopping needs. Also found a used contact lens on my bathroom floor on my last night sadly.

I regret not staying at any of the three other hotels I was looking at in the area. Disappointed. Don’t waste time on valet parking. Room was okay, bed was fine, no counter space in bathroom, several outlets didn’t work (and didn’t notice until electronics died). Make sure to turn the refrigerator on (that was user error LOL). Our room was the furthest from the elevator- a city block. Toilet issue on floor above = water dripping on us from the ceiling as we walked through the hallway taking trips to the car. The guy cleaning it told us it was okay, the water was clean (after I told him it dripped on my sister’s head). He was nice about it and it wasn’t his fault. A pretty solid walk to and from the Greek. I’d recommend ubering instead - at least on the way there unless you want to be sweaty and lose your buzz before the show. No one seemed super happy to be there or eager to help at the front desk.

The hotel staff was nice, the location was incredible, but my car window was broken despite being valetted with the hotel with little to no compensation from the hotel. I would stay here again but be skeptical of leaving my car in their garage and under their supervision.

Excellent place to drop off your kids at the college and stay for a night or two very clean and convenient.

Booked the Shattuck suite and it was located across the gym, can hear loud noise of door opening and close, also a constant jackhammering noise and something resembling a washing machine noise. Pretty disappointed for the high price paid for the suite.

Needs AC fix !

A good hotel close to the BART. Well located, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere in the bar and the breakfast was nice.

When I arrived at Hotel Shattuck Plaza, there was an initial miscommunication about the preparedness of my assigned room, which was not cleaned and prepared for a new guest. I was re-assigned a lovely new room that suited my needs for the week. After two nights, I requested cleaning services and was temporarily locked out of my room, potentially due to another miscommunication in the system. Overall, the staff was kind and responsive, and the hotel is a historic gem in the heart of downtown Berkeley.

We really enjoyed our stay. Can’t beat the location but with that comes keeping your head up but it is a city and to be expected. Everyone just minding their own business. Would be great to be able to park at location but parking garage across the street wasn’t bad. Staff was awesome. Clean rooms and everything worked. Again, location, location, location and a good price.

Location is great, staff were great. This is our second time staying. First time we stayed everything was fantastic. Second time we unfortunately had a room that needed some work. Thermostat wasn’t responding and it was warmer than is comfortable, one of the windows was broke and had to be propped to stay open, and when taking a shower the bath faucet went shooting off from the water pressure and had to be held in place to finish showering. I would still recommend this hotel, as we consider it a fluke that we got a room like this. Like I mentioned, our first stay was fantastic.

The area is relatively quiet when students are away. Fantastic dining area and restaurant located downstairs. Weather wise around this time, it feels like Fall so layer up. Overall, fantastic rating even though my first room tv wasn’t working, they quickly switched me to a different room. Great service.

Staff was incredible.

The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean, however the bed was terrible. It was a hard spring mattress that was lopsided.

Comfortable and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It can be noisy depending on where your room is located because there is construction outside. Ice maker didn't function, and the drinks and breakfast items were overpriced so went to Starbucks around the corner.

Great building. Surrounding area was ok, nothing unexpected. Shower size was weirdly tight, otherwise enjoyed our night very much and look forward to our return

Great hotel, great location, comfortable rooms. Really close to the BART station and several conveniences, such as a Target store. Definitely would stay again.

The Shattuck Hotel is in a great location and is a wonderful spot to have a short stay. Love the bar. rooms were clean and functional. The staff is the highlight. Great service.

There was strange incessant knocking on my door at 10:30 pm. I felt very unsafe
