Really good location by the bay. 4 EV charging points 55p per KW. Breakfast included however very busy with long queues and everything constantly running out.

Really good overall. Breakfast was chaotic with no plates, cups glasses etc and things not working eg pancake machine, hot chocolate and juice. Receptionist was working extremely hard to help out in the breakfast room.

We were stopping off in Cardiff for a visit and were looking for an overnight stay. This hotel was perfect, 15 min walk into the city centre and a 10 min walk to Cardiff bay. Staff were extremely helpful, room was comfy and we both slept well. Great breakfast in the morning which helped for our onward journey. Would definitely recommend.

Room wasn’t available until 3pm so delayed us going to our event. Purchased 2 gin and tonics and was shocked at the price. When I asked why so expensive the barman said they were doubles even though I didn’t ask for doubles. This is awful as a person may have been having one drink and possibly driving shortly afterwards not knowing if they didn’t question the price of the drink. H the barman told me he always serves doubles! I had to warn the man at the bar in case he got caught out also. Car parking was full after check in time so I’m glad I arrived early to nab a space despite having to wait an extra hour for the room. Hotel where fine with you parking before check in and using the bar area whilst you waited. There was no charge for the car park before check in time. At breakfast there was no coffee cups and by the time I gave up after a good 5 mins wait in a queue my cooked breakfast had gone cold so I had to get another one. Clean hotel. Staff seemed friendly but some of them stressed when it was busy in the morning.

Bathroom Sink clogged.

The shower awful. No sleep as air con constant scratching all night coming from it. People walking corridor loudly. Outside all night the noise was dreadful. The price of your limited drinks was ridiculous. Was not told we had to pay for car park till arrival. Having not being able to sleep we would never return here!!!!!!!!

The room was advertised for 4 adults but room did not even have 2 double bed, how people are suppose to sleep and was very at the time ac wasn't working either asked the staff, they said this what we have..

Very corporate

Stayed in room 306. There was a constant noise source that vibrated through the room all night. Both my wife and i was unable to get any sleep due to this. Reported the fault at the time & first thing in the morning - i was informed others on the same floor had complained and there was nothing that could be done untill they get an engineer to fix the fault. If we hadnt had alcoholic drinks we would have left the hotel & drove home. We had a day of activities planned for monday in Cardiff, we cut our trip short to head home for some much needed sleep. Very disappointed!!

Great locaton, clean rooms and lobby, and friendly staff. Nice view of the lake to sit with a beer. Pillows a bit lumpy but still reasonable sleep. Very convenient for the bay.

Staff were brilliant nothing was too much trouble for them and Mohammed especially is a credit to them, he was amazing couldn't do enough for us, really made our stay. Breakfast was great and my son got to complement the chef. This is the best holiday inn we've been to. 😁

good clean comfortable room. Unfortunately due to an incident in the adjoining building the fire alarm was activated at 4.30 am so our sleep was disturbed. Good to know that the alarms are in good working order though!

Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful at all time. I enjoyed the breakfast throughout my 6 night stay. I didn't like their lack of enough parking space. Twice I had to park my car further away from the carpark because it was full. I was refunded for the nights I wasn't able to park on their compound though.

Excellent staff 10/10 Really good overall facilities

We travelled over 300 miles to Cardiff to see Billy Joel's only European show of 2024. Prices at all hotels were immensely inflated. Our accomodation through Hotels.com got cancelled twice including only a few weeks before the concert but we were lucky to get the last room at the Holiday Inn Express, although it was an accessible room with a walk-in shower. It looked over the wharf and was comfortable and pleasant. All patrons got a free breakfast, the usual choices but replenished regularly. There was a 25 minute walk to the City Centre and 15-20 minutes to Cardiff Bay with it's great choice of restaurants, giving us the choice of going in either direction. We thought that was ideal. The staff were efficient and helpful throughout. Needless to say the concert was superb making the long trip well worthwhile.

It’s not clean and noise I

The bed was comfortable but the room was on the warm side (you have no control over the AC). We were able to get a fan. It was clean and safe. Closer walk to Cardiff Bay than Cardiff Centre. Not much close by but the hotel did have a bar for drinks and served food.

Good stay. Air conditioning could have been better as it was very hot and didn't seem to make a difference. Breakfast a little chaotic with no cutlery or plates but good selection. View of car park was uninspiring!

The only problem I had was with the air cooling system in my room

It was bad enough the room air conditioning didn't work at all, but one hotel clerk tried to claim we had purposely designed "room cooling" that just just wasn't supposed to be as effective cold as "air conditioning' - an insulting fabrication especially since they advertise air conditioning, Another clerk was nice enough to bring a small fan to my room, but since the windows barely opened, that didn't help much. They apparently have had this problem quite a while. You might expect that at an old B&B, but not at a modern hotel,

The hotel is in nice condition with a good location, and the staff were very friendl. But the breakfast was very poorly organised and you had to queue for a long time due to the way it was set up, and there was also a shortage of tables to eat at.

Breakfast is average
