When you see it from the outside, you think it's an old hotel. But when you go inside everything changes. Thomas helped us park the car, he took our luggage to the room, it was the best. He gave us suggestions about the hotel and places to go. He was the sweetest Brazilian... what a nice man. The room is spacious, the breakfast is delicious. It has an incredible rooftop where you can see Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. We loved it. I recommend it.

The check in was quick and easy. The stuff was super friendly and accommodating. There was one incident wherein I thought I might have left my phone in the tour bus. The guy (from the reception) was diligently getting a hold of the tour accompany; after all I realized I had misplaced my phone in my room. As for my room, it was huge. I had my own jacuzzi in the bathroom. The bedroom is huge too. The bedroom alone is the size of a regular 5-star hotel room. It was really worth my money spent. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel is conveniently located. There is a supermarket a block away. I will definitely come back and suggest Americas Benidorm to friends. (Stayed Aug 28-Sept 03, 2024)

Lady at reception couldn’t really be bothered and kept saying to ask others in the mornings so we were not able to sort an early breakfast or late checkout as no point in the actual morning!
Good value for area and if you don’t expect luxury but want good space in convenient area then really worth it! Breakfast good options too included in price of room
Nice rooftop but no parasols so limited shade area. Small pool and good gym - good to have this area as an option but shame they didn’t have any drinks or food to offer ( can get some nearby though)

The hospitality was amazing and I would rate it very high. Where it seemed to be not so good - and this may be all hotels in Brazil, or just this one - is the bedroom. It was VERY noisy, there was no clock, coffee/tea making machine and very few toiletries. It was basic, but comfortable at the same time. There was a swimming pool, which was very very small. A small gym but beautiful view. So, all in all I would say probably 7/10

This hotel was in a safe area...2 streets away from the famous copacabana beach....a super market across the street...breakfast was great....plenty of options to fill you up before a day of sight seeing or lying at the beach or roof top terrace...the rooms were huge...plenty of room for 4 ppl...even though the hotel was goung through renovations it wasnt a problem....overall if i ever make the journey back to rio i would definitely stay here

Over all the hotel was good, they are remodeling so during the day was a lot of noise. My room was very big I really like it, the only thing i didn't like was the pillows they have a bad smell and I didn't use them. Beside that everything was very good

I was utterly pleased with every aspect of my stay at this property! Each hotel employee I encountered, the food, the facility itself (e.g. the lobby, my room, the rooftop)...every single aspect met and exceeded my expectations. I'm grateful for the entire experience!

The hotel is old but it’s clean and in good shape, it’s close to the beach around 4 blocks, the streets are a bit dirty and with homeless people, it’s close to a pharmacy, good restaurants, overall it’s a good hotel

We absolutely loved this hotel! The service was excellent, location great, very spacious room and clean and comfortable! The only thing that stopped it being 5 stars across the board was renovations, which we were promised would only be during business hours - it was still going on in the adjoining room at 21.45 at night, started at 7.30am! Would def use again though, when the renovations are finished!

Visited Rio for the first time for New Year and my bday and the location of the hotel was perfect. The staff was friendly and always ready to assist!

Run down is an understatement. Upon early arrival, they sent me to the roof pool to use the one broken down restroom on the roof deck without a lock on the door. The lobby had chunks of floor tile missing, and needed a remodel. As a senior traveling alone on NYE weekend, the location felt unsafe. The immediate neighborhood was crowded, shabby, with lots of people sleeping on the street. I returned to the hotel, and decided to find a different location rather than check in. The hotel manager agreed to only charge me for one night of my 3 night stay if I didn’t stay there, they had a lot of people milling around the lobby. I agreed and found a hotel in a safer area. They charged me for the entire three night stay, and Expedia said they refused to credit me for the two nights they agreed to.

Pros: The hotel location is great. The room was clean, and the AC worked great. The breakfast had good variety, but basic / poor quality.
Cons: biggest issue is staff. Only one staff speaks English, and that lady at the reception desk is always grumpy and rude. The hotel has outdated rip-off policies. They don’t have iron for cloths, even if you ask for one. Instead, they charge you for ironing services. If you need to store your luggage, they also charge. The lady was arguing with me because I needed to store my luggage for 45 min while I get lunch. Really bad customer service. Not sure I would return to this hotel.

The hotel is dated, but it’s in a nice location. The rooms are spacious. The gym is tiny, but in the 5 days we were there, no one else used it at the same time, so this was fine. The only negative was reception tried to charge us for water which we thought was complimentary, as there was no sign or anything indicating we needed to pay. We told reception we would go back to the room with them so he could show us the sign, he quickly changed his mind. This did leave us with a negative impression after overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel was very nice. Located a few minutes to Copacabana beach. Yhe breakfast was nice also. The pool is so tiny it could be mistaken for kiddies' pool. And the habit of charging for luggage storage is overrated. It should be a complimentary gesture to hold a guest's luggage before check in time. It's not a lot of money, but it looks tacky.

I know this is a 30 yr old hotel but hey u could do something to take off the rust, from the knobs & buttons.
I came in with no bulbs ( no lampshade at all) at the bedside reading light( if u are a reader, u need this), shower flooded, toilet button is so old/rusty that the water kept going until I pulled it out.
The wifi didn’t work from the morning I wake up until I came back at night , if u are working & has family— u would choose a hotel that has “wifi” services. I bought a SIM card but of course, it’ll give u limited services, too.

The hotel is located in a great location. Great breakfast,close to the beach, restaurants and shopping areas. I think the hotel is value for money and would recommend same for travelers on a budget.. The pool area need an upgrade
