The place is fine for a night or two. As long as it's clean I'm fine. this place feels clean enough.

It wasn’t great. Room wasn’t clean. Overall dirty. Dusty. Tv was fuzzy. We asked to be moved to a different room bc first was awful. Ac don’t work. Door didn’t lock. Tv was broke and sheets were stained. Second room : clean sheets and working tv. Nothing to brag about for the amount of money it cost per night. I realize prices were hiked bc it was a home football game but it did cost me $250/night with a two night minimum. Wasn’t good. I will do my best not to go back.

Basic no-frills hotel that met our needs. Front desk staff was very friendly. Lobby was nice. Overall hotel decor was a little dated/in transition. It looked like some repair work was being done. Breakfast area was actually opened up and ready before 6 AM so it was nice to get my coffee early!

There were issues with payment. I paid through Hotels.com when I made my reservation, but the young man at the checkout counter couldn't see evidence of my payment. He told me he would leave a note for the manager and they would figure it out in the morning. When checking out, I was presented with a bill. I explained again everything from the night before. The gal at the counter was new and got very flustered and defensive. She was trying to call someone else for help. After several phone calls, whoever was on the other end of the line could see that I had paid and they let me go. She told me it happens off and on. I've never had an issue paying through Hotels.com before. I think it was something on the hotel's end.

While our room was very clean and our bed comfortable, it was a bit shabby (dinged up paint on the walls, worn furniture. We slept well, and the breakfast was average. The breakfast hours were also more limited than some, which made for crowded dining. The large Hoyse Rules sign at the desk was intimidating, and also the first place where it was noted that there was a $100 refundable deposit and a $30 cleaning fee assigned after 5 minutes in the room. If you have my credit card on file, initialing this policy in the event of abuse would go a long way in making me feel better, rather than assuming im going to damage the property. Transparancy on this would go a long way in making for a pleasant stay. The staff was exceptional there were many restaurant choices close by.

The shower water was cold, no conditioner in the bathroom, the people who work there are really super nice. It was cheap though so I guess you get what you pay for.

This was by far the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had. Phone in room did not work for outgoing or incoming calls. Toilet was not properly attached to the floor. Fixtures were in bathroom are rusty and need replacing. Room had no hot water on Saturday night. Hotel “ran out of towels” sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Front desk staff was incredibly rude and justified it by saying she was new. Will never stay at this hotel again and would discourage others from staying there.

The toilet was not cleaned - the ring in the bowl Toilet set cover not screwed on tight and off to the side Ketchup on the phone The alarm clock is not working at all, and the battery corroded on the underside The hair dryer is not working. Plug on hair dryer falling apart The TV listing on paper was so faint that I could not read it. TV channels all came in with static. The employee replugged the TV, and it worked for 5 minutes. He also wiped the ketchup off the phone.

Crappy hotel for the price which was probably increased due to family weekend in Iowa City. Won’t stay again. Rather pay a higher amount and get a nicer hotel.

Property is definitely old. Room was average but not very clean. We found one dead cockroach and one live one in the bathroom area and had yellow stains on our comforter. When we asked for a new one, staff said they'd change it but never did. When we asked about it later, we were given a small blanket and told it was the only clean one they could find. Based on this, we avoided the pool area and the continental breakfast. We also got locked out of our room due to the keycard reader battery dying. Overall, staff was friendly but not very helpful. Not staying here again.

the property has cockroaches in the bathrooms. We felt very uncomfortable during our stay

Breakfast was very lacking compared to what was advertised the pool was also broken and closed which is big reason why I booked this hotel

They didn't have any hot water, the whirlpool bath in my room didn't work, and right after I got the room I heard a key card hit the lock. They were wanting to clean my room less than an hour after I got there.

Uncomfortable beds. Tiny, hard pillows. Ice cold showers. No hot water in the morning.

I hotel was easily accessible from the highway and close to the university. There was a lot of shopping and dining opportunities.

The closet in the stairwell still isn't finished after more than a year. Looks tacky. Breakfast is not very good. Would like a fruit option. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable.

Black mold in the shower vent, bugs and cobwebs all over in the bedroom area. Very displeased.

Our room had a very weird smell to it. We could.bot shut the door to our bathroom and we found bloodnon one of the bedroom pillows.

Terrible experience all around

The staffers were horrible, I ended leaving the hotel stay for another hotel because America inn employees were so rude and unprofessional. They so call Surpvisor was even horrible. After I told her to leave the hotel. She told me “ get out of my hotel” and told the other employee to call the police on me.

This property is a shame. The spa is boarded up permanently. The ice machine didn’t work. There was a cockroach that crawled across the desk with the light on at around 7:30 in the morning. Upon checkout, the printers were not operational so I was unable to get a receipt for my stay. I paid at the property so now I have no receipt. The manager called my phone while I was at the hospital for a medical procedure. My daughter, an adult, answered my phone and explained to the manager that I was a patient having a procedure and ask how she could help her. The manager was rude and explained that since I booked through a third party she’s not obligated to provide a receipt and told my daughter she didn’t appreciate her “attitude”. When my daughter requested to speak to the manager she was told she was speaking to the manager. So my daughter requested the contact information for the district manager. She was told she wasn’t getting that information and was hung up on. I will say the front desk staff last night and this morning were cordial. The manager could learn from them.

I was charged $50.00 for property damage. When i called to inquire about this i was told that sheets were soiled with body fluids and they couldnt get stains out. I checked with my family and and my Mom had spelt coffee in upper right corner of sheets. I tried to talk to Manager Amanda about this and she wouldn't let me speak. She kept saying body fluids and stains wouldn't come out. I asked if they had been washed and stains wouldn't come out and she said NO, so i was trying to ask questions about how she knew stains wouldn't come out and she didn't allow me to ask anything. She was very rude. I said fine since i can't ask questions, i will call Corporate office to discuss. Which i did. Also another issue that happened was the sidewalk in front of main door was uneven. My 85 year old Mom tripped but caught herself so she didn't fall. A complaint was made and the young man working the desk on Friday night listened to concern and walked outside with me to point out our concern. He put up a floor sign to be aware and said he would point it out to management.

I had a bed bug crawling in my bed. When I spoke with the man at register, he was acting as if it was nothing.

Staff was wonderful

Everything else was fine. I've stayed here before and came back because it's ideally located for my needs. Only criticism is that the breakfast offerings aren't nearly as good as they once were. Cereal was stale. Ran out of yogurts. No apples or bananas as there once were. And biscuits 'n gravy every morning isn't all that appealing

Flat pillows , pool not heated. Tied condition. Staff though were good.
