The check in went smoothly. The room was very rustic. Our room had a separate sink and coffee preparation area which was nice! We were there during a heat wave so it was hot, with no a/c but there was a fan. Overall, very good!

It’s a good place to stay I rated four because the sink didn’t drain good it was clogged also it’s a bit outdated but I can live with that.

We stayed here 10 years ago and just recently. Everything was the same but it is clear they work to maintain the property. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, one draw-back - not the hotels fault - is that our room was really hot. No AC, which generally isn’t a problem, but we were there during a heat wave. Keep that in mind for July and August. Will stay here again. Bartender was super friendly, front desk staff less so; they did their job, but not too friendly.

Horrible experience. Definitely not recommend. The room was located in the attic with a 1x2 ft window and no other ventilation. Being there in a heat wave warning on the 4th of July weekend was unbearable. We couldn't sleep at all. Eventually they gave us a dirty, dusty fan that was nosy and could not ventilate a room located in the attic. In the main building everything is old, outdated and smells like trash. I belive the good reviews are buyed. Definitely not a 8.8 grade. I still wonder what regulatory agency allows this building to still function. The coffee machine is placed in the bathroom, literally 1 ft away from the toilet bowl. Not even a single positive thing about this stay.

Very convenient for those wanting to go to the village, close to shopping etc.

Alpenhof was just right for a two night stay as we spent a day and a half exploring the area, including taking gondola to top of the mount, and driving to explore the lakes. Near to several eating options and bars. Pool swim was nice way to end the day. Staff friendly.

The Alpenhof doesn’t have AC. Our room faced west and the hot sun turned it into an oven. We didn’t realize the problem until we’d unpacked and gone out and about. In addition that, the afternoon young, tatooed desk clerk was condescending, rude and brusque. Having said that, the young lady that checked us in earlier was delightful. Anyway, if your stay on a hot summer day, insist on an east facing room.

The area was safe and clean and very close to restaurants and shops etc

Very nice enjoyed our stay room was clean and well kept. Room didn’t have a microwave so you have to go down to the basement to use it and that also is where the ice machine is at. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again on my next trip.

Everything was great

Great for everything. Right across the street from the village.

This lodge is decent. It’s clean. They don’t have AC, luckily it didn’t get too hot. The manager was very nice and let us check in early. Staff is courteous. The best thing about this lodge is the location. It’s conveniently within walking distance from the village where all the shops and restaurants are. Make sure you are not in room 100. It was noisy and smell of food from the restaurant bellow wan unpleasant.

The hotel was really well placed. It is really set up for the ski season and we found the room warm at night even with the fan on. The decor was slightly dated but that seems to be common place in Mammoth. We were right next to an area with excellent bars and restaurants

Great location!

Refrigerator did not work. They exchanged for another one - which the guy did not set up correctly - I had to fix it. No internet the entire time for any of our 4 devices. Could not even use our data within the confines of the hotel. They had no explanation and no solution and said it was someone else's issue, not theirs. No table or chairs if you would like to sit down and eat. Barely satisfactory and not recommended.

I absolutely loved my stay here! You can’t beat the location being walking distance to the gondola. Adam was so kind and accommodating with any needs that we had, we will be back next season for sure!

Simply, for a skier, it's location, location, location: Easiest access to the slopes at Mammoth. Just park the car, and everything is within walking distance. And there's a great hot tub for after all the skiing!

We had a great two night stay! The lodge is definitely dated and old-school but you can't beat the location and price!! You can get your ski boots on in the room and walk to gondola! We had a room on the 1st floor and it was noisy from the restaurant below but luckily not too late. Would stay there again for the perfect location alone!

My stay was really nice. Location is a huge perk (Gondola right across the street and village shops/restaurants). I think the location pays for itself. The room was very clean and spacious. The building is a bit outdated and some of the amenities could be improved. (For ex: I think they could provide better quality soaps/shampoo, microwaves in room, etc., but not that big of a deal). In addition, they do not offer room service (just towel replacement and trash removal), which is an area I think could be improved.

So close to the village and the lifts... it was the best!

Great location for a weekend ski trip. The hotel room was updated with new furniture, it had everything we needed for a weekend stay. The rest of the hotel was a little dated but still in good condition. Staff was very friendly. The convenience to the gondola was perfect, good places to eat in walking or short driving distance. Would stay again and would recommend.

The property is older but the location right across from the village makes it a great value

Check in was horrible. Guy behind the glass barely said two words and was very irritable. I guess he forgot he was in the hospitality business. Toilet bowl was dirty on arrival. Room was full of dust and when the sun shined in it looked liked it was a blizzard of fine dust particles. Guess I got what I paid for
