We got there the same day as 2 bus loads of Mexican nationals. Everything was super crowded. The other guests were super pushy and rude, to us and the staff. Never saw anyone leave a tip. No manners with anything. They would push you out of the way to get on elevators and were equally rude in the restaurants and in the pool. Made the mistake of putting on my kids goggles in the pool and what I saw made me want to vomit. The beach was filled with trash. Plastic everywhere, it was really sad. Other than the steakhouse, the food was mediocre and the drinks were blah. The staff were friendly, but I felt bad for them. We had never experienced anything like this in all the years we have been travelling to Mexico. It has made us rethink going to all inclusives in general. You either have to spend a lot more money to go to more exclusive ones or stay at quiet, non all inclusive typehotels and just pay for food and drink.

This property was great for the most part. Staff was great, was clean, everyone was friendly. My only issue was was had a room closest to the pool...which also meant close to the RIU stage. Every night until 11 or later the walls of our room would vibrate from the music bass and we could hear every word like we were standing right in front of the show. Not a terrible issue but im a light sleeper and I was glad my kids were old enough to not be too bothered by it. I also understand people are there on vacation and to watch shows, but we were usually too tired by the end of the day to stay out for them. Just ask for an interior room away from the stage if this might be a problem for you.

Booked a room with a jacuzzi and it was really dirty and not working properly. Had called front desk to fix issue a few times but no one showed up besides one maintenance guy who made it worse. Tried to clean it ourselves, felt like we were annoying staff. In the four nights we were there, we didn't use it once.

Air conditioning and ceiling fan worked well and kept the room nice and cold.
Bedding and areas in the room showed poor maintenance. The pillows smelled bad, not sure if it was the pillow case or a sweat smell coming from the pillow itself. The bed sheets looked old and lacked a fresh clean smell.
The shower door would not stay shut, and the hinges were rusted.
The staff were friendly and services were good during breakfast and dinner. The lunch restaurant by the beach had little staff to bus tables.
Green areas were well taken care of.

My girlfriends and I came for a little get away. This hotel destination was perfect for us. The food was great, the drinks were perfect. Everything was clean and very well up kept. I would definitely come back again.

Our experience was terrible for three reasons:
1. The staff refused us entry to one of their restaurants for no good reason. It was humilliating.
2. My computer couldn´t log to the internet. When I went to the front desk they claimed to be aware of the problem, but that it was unsolvable. Basically no laptop would have internet they claimed, only mobiles. How is one supposed to work?!?!?
3. They claim to restock your mini-bar but in 4 nights they didn´t do it once....
Terrible experience for the price you pay.

The hotel is okay. Nice grounds. The air conditioner does not work properly. They need to invest in some fans in the lobby as it is extremely uncomfortably hot. The bar room with pool tables should be limited to adults only. The club is more like a sauna. It was hot and smelly. The food quality is mediocre nothing you expect from a 5 star hotel. The buffet restaurants run out of food with you having to wait more than 5 minutes for the workers to bring out new trays. They need a better variety. There should always be a restaurant open and guests should not have to wait an hour for open options. The entertainment was fun at night. However I wish they would have shows during the day as well.
Please do your homework and look for a better hotel this one is not worry the stay.

I am very disappointed with our experience. So dirty, the pools are dirty, and a bunch of young kids drunk in the pool being rude. Tiles from the pool came off and cut all of our feet, the pool has so much sand. cockroaches in our room, and we even brought some home. Juices are not fresh, the same food, low quality, very old towels are used in the rooms. My only positive is the entretainment. Floors are very slippery EVERYWHERE!! be careful.

Beautiful facility. Stunning views. Gracious and friendly staff. Jacuzzi suite was worth the extra expense. Only drawbacks were one elevator bank for huge facility and we struggled with tiny ants in our room the entire time even after they sprayed.

We had the worst experience at RIU Jalisco. We had a three night, four day stay at RIU Jalisco. The air conditioning was not working for the three nights we were there. We wanted our kids to have the best experience as they were looking forward to it. My kids were miserable at night the thermostat never change from 79 degrees. We will never go back.

Didn’t eat in my room at all but left a wrapped Cough Drop out. Covered in sugar ants the next morning. Provided shampoo was a joke and didn’t even have conditioner in my room. Couldn’t get A/C to get below 78.8 deg F. Spent most of my time in my sisters room which they had great A/C but they only had Luke warm water from their shower. Rained 4 out of the 6 evenings and hallway tiles were slicker than snot

I recently stayed at the Rio Jalisco resort in Puerto Vallarta and was very disappointed. The elevators were old and in bad condition, and the towels were extremely worn out. There was no room service provided, the conditions at the resort were far below expectations.

We did not like the hotel at all. Multiple maintenance issues with the room that were never really fixed. Cockroaches all over the room. The food at 4 or the 5 “all inclusive” restaurants were terrible. Pools were very dirty. We could not use the spa or fitness facilities due to my son being under 18 (he’s 16) even with adults present w him. We are a very fitness minded family and regularly work out in gyms all over when we travel.
I could go on. The only thing that saved our trip were the off property activities I found. The surrounding area was beautiful. We will not come back to Riu properties though.

Grounds were nice and clean. Most of the staff was nice, but front desk is horrible when it comes to customer service. I traveled with a girlfriend, they gave us a king bed, we called them at front desk they said they would send someone up to separate the beds, we waited for hours, nobody came. We did it ourselves. The shower pan was gross, dirty as heck. We called about that too and again nobody ever came. We kept calling about it and they kept saying they would send someone but never did. Our bed sheets were not changed either. They finally sent someone at 1am to change the bed sheets. This was not a good first experience for my friend since it was her first to for her to Puerto Vallarta and RIU Jalisco.

I love the food! Particularly, the buffet. All oprions were delicious. It was family friendly and great pools. The room that we stayed was fine, but it does need to be updated in general. The french door was missing a screw, toilet flushed very slow and sink as well. A bit more privacy would be nice in the the shower area. Overall, our stay was great!

Two of the female bar tenders (one named Lluvia) were very rude. They refused to give their names when asked. Were very condescending and rude from the moment I arrived to the day I left. I was there for 5 days and they refused to serve me any drinks from alcoholic to even coffee. I paid for the all inclusive experience only for them to refuse and I had to go to another bar with male attendants. I have stayed at other RIU hotels and this has never happened, it has left a horrible taste for me.

Everything was amazing, my family loved it. There was entertainment everyday. Only reason I’m giving 4 stars was because there was flying tiny bugs in the bathroom. We were told someone was going to come by and spray our room but don’t think that happened since the bugs remained there throughout our stay. Other than that, the entertainment, food and staff where great!
