We had an amazing experience and couldnt be happier with the experience. The staff were amazing and the location and the rooms were so perfect. We had amazing food and we had a private onsen as well as access to the public onsen. We had shiatsu massages that were great and very reasonably priced. We had misplace a JR rail pass and the staff went to great efforts in getting it back to us after they discovered it. Great cultural experience and a wonderful stay.

The staff were wonderful but the hotel itself is very run down and if you’re not used to this type of experience you will be surprised that there is almost no where to sit in your room, yet really nowhere else to go. All of the furniture and furnishings are very run down, the carpets are stained etc. I would not complain but for the very expensive price tag of over $800 US. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the hotel. In addition, the food had been prepared previously and refrigerated and was nothing to get excited about.

Very nice service and staff. Food was really terrific and authentic Japanese ryokan experience. Condition was not great - carpet soiled and smelled musty. Location was hard to get to - and not close to anything to walk to

you need to have a car to move around the area, or else you should stay in the hotel to enjoy the onsen only
