Lovely villa hotel with wonderful food and staff. Halfway between Pisa and Lucca. The pool and grounds were a delight. Great place to recover from a long flight from the US.

Stayed for 5 days. Super service, very friendly staff. Cleaning very good. Dinner menu ok, but no lunch service.

Very accommodating staff, excellent restaurant. Breakfast was VERY substandard (a coffee machine instead of real coffee, cream cornetos with no cream, cheese and meats old and dried out.

Potentially this is a lovely hotel in a great position between Lucca and Pisa. However, several things spoil the overall charm. The lack of staff is apparent with the reception staff doing most jobs. We didn't see anyone looking after the breakfast tables. The dining room itself is very unappealing. There is no bar area to sit and enjoy a drink. We had cold nights so outside was not an option in the evening. Just as well it was cool as there was no obvious air conditioning. The bedrooms and beds were large, but the bed was too hard and uncomfortable. Worst was the incessantly barking dogs behind the property that kept us awake. The pool area looked lovely but even in September the water was too cold for swimming.

Villa Cheli was beautiful, we were sorry when we had to leave. We stayed 4 nights as part of a larger holiday and wish we'd had longer. The pool is a great size and there was never more than a few people around it. There was a good mix of people, adults and kids and lots of nationalities. The food in the restaurant was very high quality and buffet breakfast had loads of choices. The room was immaculate. It wasn't fancy, but that's not what we were expecting anyway. Nicely decorated and very clean. The staff were friendly and helped with booking taxis when we needed. There is a bus stop right at the end of the drive which is great - only 1.50 for a ticket into Lucca! And you have to visit Lucca - one of the best towns in Italy we've been to. We will definitely go back here.

As a last minute stay this beautiful hotel was spectacular.

During a 3 week road trip from London to Italy (& back) we’ve taken in quite a few hotels at various price brackets. For value & friendly service this hotel ranks highly. The pool is big enough so that even if there are families with young children in it, other adults can still enjoy a dip. All members of staff were very helpful & friendly. A beautiful spot for dinner at the top of the tree lined drive.

Property is beautiful; however, rooms and decor could use some updating. Chandelier had cobwebs. Didn’t mind as I felt the room was clean. Parking is convenient and location is magical.

Stayed here many years ago when they were in the process of renovating the property. What a magnificent job they have made of it, such a beautiful property, restaurant, lounges, sun balconies all furnished in period Italian style. All the staff were very welcoming and the continental breakfast came with various cereal’s, breads, meat & cheeses jams.

Superbe location with great staff. You’re feeling in the countryside while being only few kn away from a the very nice Lucca town, or even Pisa. Only little thing i could say is about the breakfast, which was a bit disappointing.. but great experience overall

Really nice place a couple of kilometers outside Lucca. Top marks for the swimming pool area, both for children and adults. Clean and large room and a good breakfast buffet.

We stayed for four nights to visit Florence, Pisa, Lucca and the surrounding area. The setting for the hotel is stunning, from the tree lined driveway, the gardens, the mountains in the background to the actual building with its swimming pool and terrace. The staff made us feel very welcome and our room was as described. The food was delicious both at breakfast and dinner. We had a lovely four days exploring the area and would definitely revisit the hotel and recommend the hotel to friends and family.

Nice villa outside of Lucca. A car is necessary if you want to visit Pisa or even Lucca itself. Enjoyed the grounds and refreshing pool. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff.

Brilliant overnight stay, wish it could have been longer.

A lovely spot for our last night in tuscany. Out in the country yet only 20 mins from the airport.

This is a really nice hotel. It has excellent grounds and really nice pool. They have a very cute and friendly hotel cat. The room was basic, but perfect for our needs and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel restaurant was very good and reasonably priced, although the service was a bit slow. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler.

We stayed in an apartment for a week with 2 young children. Large bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, plus patio area with table and chairs. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night and breakfast for the first day, but as we had a fridge, microwave and hob in the apartment we cooked for the rest of week. Ample parking at the hotel for the hire car. Plus there was a pizzeria a short drive up the road that kept the kids happy.

Simply the best, the location in great to book your Tuscany experience: 10min from Lucca, 20 from Pizza, 40 fron Florence, etc. The staff is just perfect! Small setup but it has everything you need to spend a couple of days at the hotel and go out to explore Tuscany, you can spend a two week vacation there and will always have great stuff to do. The swimming pool is beautiful and totally open to the Mountains. Large rooms, and very nice Villa all together Simply a great place.

We only stayed at Hotel Villa Chelli for one night, but we wished we had spent our entire week there! It was such a beautiful property that felt like it was secluded and in the middle of nowhere, but it's just 3 km from the city center of Lucca. We had a room on the 2nd floor facing the back of the property, we couldn't get enough of the view of the pool and the trees/plants/flowers/grass. The room was very large and comfortable, the breakfast was very good and plentiful, and we discovered the spa the morning we were going to check-out (unfortunately). This place was like a dream to us, and I would love to go back there!
