Such an incredible stay at Villa Santa Teresa. We arrived to this absolute dream like villa on a private gated mountain top road surrounded by gardens. The estate and views took our breath away. You will feel almost like you’re staying in a private mansion of a good friend. Room was immaculate and the turndown service was perfect. The staff provided buttons so you always could reach someone for a cocktail or assistance. I can’t rave enough about it. We spent one of our days exploring the town but loved the hotel so much we decided to stay out and enjoy for our last day by the pool and having a beautiful dinner overlooking the mountain and ocean. It’s a truly magical experience and one that my husband and I will remember forever. We would come back in a heartbeat! Don’t hesitate, just book :)

Tremendous views. My biggest complaint was that they don’t go out of the way to clearly point out children are not allowed to stay at the hotel.

After being to Rio plenty of times before we were not expecting this level of service. Adorable house, amazing location with probably the best service we've ever experienced in Brazil. Will be back, com certeza!!

Vila Santa Teresa by far was the “icing on the cake” of my Rio de Janeiro visit. I can’t say enough about how beautiful, safe, and accommodating my stay was. I love the fact that I was contacted via phone days before my arrival to confirm my reservation so that I felt welcome. I truly love this being that I don’t speak Portuguese. It was nice to know that they were thinking of me before arrival. I must also say that Felipe, Rose, Vilmar, and Sabino were fantastic! Felipe seemed to be the manager. Both he and Vilmar spoke English. They were very informative and helped guide me through the hotel’s beauty, luxury design, setup, and the Santa Teresa area. My room was a dream! It was very spacious. I had a premium suite with a view of the Guanabara Bay, which included a spectacular view of Sugar Loaf mountain. The view is something I will never forget. If you’re looking for luxury, seclusion, and top hospitality minutes from the the craziness of the beach crowd, then Hotel Vila Santa Teresa is your spot. You won’t regret it.

The stay is an interesting experience. This is a two stories mansion located inside a large private estate up the hill. The villa itself has nice living areas modernly furnished and a small outdoor pool with amazing bay and mountain views. The room is spacious and clean. Welcome fruit and Italian brand bottled water are provided on the day of arrival. I have paid a premium for a room with balcony (over AUD 1,000 per night) however the villa checked me in a room without balcony and I was told the room I wished for had already been occupied. No refund was offered for this situation. Unlike an hotel, there isn't an official reception inside the villa. It is very hard to get service. There is only one person working as the receptionist who walks around the house and can hardly be reached by the phone provided inside the room. I literally had to searched around the house for the receptionist to get service attention. Not to mentioned other general services you can easily get by making a call. Breakfast is a la cart. Options are minimum. Overall, the highlight is the view. It is not indeed a luxury hotel.
