Was small and cute, but reception was a mile away from the cabin, not good for people on foot purely for people with cars

Had a lovely stay. Theme rooms are lovely. Bit noisy with guests above us walking passed but nice location & memories made.

We were pleasantly surprised with Gulliver's Kingdom since we have never heard of it. For a really great price we had a lovely 2 nights in the princess-themed room with amazing views of Matlock Bath. There were activities in the evening for the kids. They absolutely loved it
4.0
Fairly basic room (made from a shipping container) but really quite functional, clean and comfortable. The bar/reception and kids entertainment area was smaller than I expected (compared to Gulliver's Valley in Rotherham), but it was pleasant and sociable, the staff were really friendly, and the kids enjoyed the entertainment. And the theme park is great, plenty to do, lovely surroundings. Food a bit basic but decent options in the main hotel restaurant. Even more basic with fewer options in the theme park (and nothing healthy).

Reasonably priced for a one night stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent and quick service at breakfast.

The room itself was quite hot, the only way to resolve this was by opening the balcony door, which let in a lot of bugs and insects at night. It would be better if there was a fan or air conditioner instead.
Another thing was that there was sometimes a bad smell coming from the boiler or around that area.
Apart from thoss small problems, the room was very nice and clean. We enjoyed staying on the property.

Very impressed with the accommodation, the beds were comfortable and the rooms well maintained. However, I would ask that the cleaning crew look at the soap scum around the shower seals.

We stayed in the new Willows block, which was really lovely. It still feels very new and was very clean - and the bed was very comfortable. My daughter was over the moon with her bunk bed over the main double bed, which was such a lovely touch. All the staff we met were so friendly and when I booked I hadn’t realised there would be entertainment in the evening. There were games/a disco on from 7pm, marshmallow toasting (although you have to buy a bag of marshmallows to take part) from 8pm and a film was put on for the kids from 9pm, which was the Lion King when we were there. The only downside was there was nowhere to buy breakfast from (and very limited options in the theme park if you go on to spend the day there). The bathroom was also very small, which didn’t bother me because it had everything we needed but I can imagine larger guests might have an issue.

Good value for money.

Amazing time with the children! They love it here.

We stayed in the princess room which should have been for 2 nights however the room was lovely with an amazing view from the balcony but the bed was not, you could feel the springs and we had an awful nights sleep however when i complained about this, the woman on reception was very apologetic and offered us a room swap which we accepted, the second night we stayed in a pirate room and it was great, no springy bed and we really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely go back.

Our squirrel room was amazing and the Gulliver theme park on your doorstep was great.
It is like living inside a book story, my son so much loved his bunk bed he didn’t want to go home.
We had a lovely time full of adventures.

Stayed in a converted container, boys loved bunk beds, shower was a bit hot. There was evening entertainment in the club house - toasting marshmallows etc. Reasonably priced - would stay again.

Friendly staff. Stopped on the Promenade. Lovely inside.

All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. They go the extra mile to make your stay a good one. Nothing is too much trouble.
Gullivers Resort is a stones throw from the town and Heights of Abraham.
I would recommend a stay here.

Very compact, no chairs, bed very low, no wardrobe or hanging space.
No cooked breakfasts.
Receptionist very reluctant to give
cold breakfast in the morning and strongly recommends getting it in Matlock Bath town centre.

👍We were greeted by a lovely receptionist, the room had everything we needed plus extra like microwave and fridge. We were offered the option of food, able to go to the lounge/bar area to watch a film or take a DVD. Bonus of a free ticket for our son for the theme park as it was closed being out of season.
👎Only surface cleaned, black scum around the plug and taps and spider webs. The thermostat in the room was set at 19 degrees and because we arrived bang on check in time the room hadn't be pre warmed. High up in the Peaks in February we were cold. The heaters are locked and controlled by the reception. I went to reception and asked if we could have it set for warmer and she was very accommodating and said it was reset. We went out to get food and on return it was warm. I then had a bath. Later my son wanted a bath but no hot water but an emersion type heater you had to press to boost it. We had been told about this but I never thought in a hotel this would happen after one bath especially in a room that sleeps 5. Basically it would need to heat for an hour between baths so went to bed. When we woke up at 8.30am the heater was cold and was set at 15 degrees. I tried to ring the reception 4 times through the website as no room phone but no pick up. In the end we just got dressed and left. There was hot water but to cold for a bath.
At 110 pounds a night I did not expect to be controlled on baths, room temperature or be cold. For this reson I wouldn't recommend.

We stayed in willows .The room was compact but was perfect for an overnight stay. Everything was clean and new, the grandkids loved every minute. We went to Derwent gardens for the illuminations and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay.

The room I originally got given was not cleaned. The gentlemen didn’t know what to say , I was moved to another cabin , however the lamp was ready to be binned. It was very cold inside. Very small and not enough lamps for the desk underneath. I appreciate it was kids and family. But what do you have to accommodate business? The pics below are what I turned up to. I wasn’t happy , I checked out but I couldn’t explain my problems as it was very busy on Saturday morning. I would like to be compensated as it was a disaster.

The hotel staff were friendly but the accomodation is in serious need of updating and cleaning, we had little bugs in the fridge and the carpet was absolutely disgusting, a carpet cleaner would help if it cannot be replaced. the place is fab for matlock bath and we had a good day in the park but having a separate access for the park would be good as you have to walk up or down to access the park but wouldnt stay in the accomodation again.

When picking up my room key the manager said id underpaid for my room so charged me an extra £16.75 which I duly paid. Having them checked my bank in the morning I could see Id clearly paid the corrext amount. I went to ask for a refund and they said they couldn't at 8am as no manager was on the premises..

Rooms are housed in converted shipping containers- but were well equipped, clean and comfortable. Bunk beds were a big hit with our children (6&9), being right next to the park was a huge bonus for us. Though not really our “thing” the entertainment for the children in the evening was actually really good fun, followed by toasting marshmallows round a fire pit. Then a visit from “Gully” the park mascot in the morning also brought some smiles. Staff were all friendly and helpful- with a big dose of common sense. At breakfast one small child was quite upset by the arrival of a 6ft tall mouse, Gully’s helper very sensibly moved Gully out of the room to the hallway, and came back to see the child in question to make sure they were ok. Top marks. On the negative, the sink in the en-suite is on top of the toilet cistern to save space, but tricky to brush you teeth for smaller people, and although the dinner we had was good, served quickly and reasonably priced, it would be greatly to have a bit more variety out side of burgers/veg burgers, nuggets and fries. Overall recommend.

We booked a night stay on the way home from a short break and it seemed like a fun option. The theme was nice, my eldest is a huge Harry Potter fan so loved the Wizard Theme, the view was amazing, good showers and the bed was comfortable. The only real downsides was the temperature, no air con, no fan and although we had a balcony and the option to leave wide open, this was not an option as the minute we did all sorts of bugs found there way in (one of the draw backs to all the beautiful foliage Matlock Bath is famous for) and the breakfast option was a little confusing and not really worth the £25 we paid for it (£2 for a bowl of cereal?) but overall it’s a fun place, if I was looking for a place to stay outside the summer months this would definitely be up for consideration

Not have hot water for bathing, and the front desk off at 21:00, nobody can help.
Horrible experience.

It was great family stay, friendly and helpful stuff .

Shower had hairs in it, mould on windows and all around the bathroom, and the room smelled damp.

Gulliver's resort is a theme park. It was closed for the winter, but the accommodation is good. We had a room that could be used for self catering and would be big enough for a family.

Beds were uncomfortable. Apart from that brilliant

Spotlessly clean

The Park is always good fun, quite traditional and great for younger kids.
The accommodation was great, very clean and very comfortable. The big win was the kids evening entertainer. If the hotel is reading this, then you need to keep him. He is all my kids have talked about. He was on duty on Wed PM 26 Oct. we all agreed, the best entertainment we have ever seen and the kids and parents there had a whale of a time.
The only bit to improve was the food standards, it was pretty average but then we weren't paying high end rates so it was fair enough.
We will definitelybe ging to stay again.

The park was closed but the cabins were available which meant a quiet night. I suspect it may not be so nice when the park is busy with children. Easy walk to pubs and shops (a bit steep on the way back!).
Very small cabin with double bed and bunks. Just enough room for two people but not too bad at the price or if you have been to Japan. Having a small wash basin behind the toilet makes cleaning teeth interesting but shower was fine for a small person.
Good value for one night, friendly staff.

My stay was 'ok'.
Easy to find. Friendly staff. Easy check in..
However.. the 'cabin' was a metal storage container which had been turned into a room. First impression was the overpowering smell of air fresheners, I had to unplug one and leave the door open to let it dissipate. Once that had died down, the smell it's covering was odd. Vaguely like cat wee..just odd.
The room was lovely and clean though and nicely decorated.
I had to ask for milk pots. No TV remote. No WiFi and it being a metal box meant no data signal.
I was given room 30, which has a metal staircase running alongside, so I felt every step of every other resident of the 5 or so other 'cabins'.
There's a reason this is the cheapest in the area.

Very welcoming staff, a dream for children.

Basic for adults. Lots for kids. Limited breakfast options

Great fun room. The kids enjoyed it although a bit more space would have been nice but okay for one night.
