We stayed the this property for one night and was not disappointed. From the minute we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our gorgeous room for the night. The interior decor of the room was beautifully thought through and fet cosy and homely. We were provided with a selection of coffee pods to use on with the coffee machine, whilst also having milk and a bottle of water available in the fridge. The room was well maintained and cleaned to a very high standard. Even though our room was closest to the bar, we found our room to be quiet even until the pub closed. The food was magnificent! My partner had the steak whilst I opted for one of the fish specials. The food was amazing and would highly reccomend friends and family pay the restaurant a visit. The breakfast in the morning was well presented and delicious! Although not local to the area I will be speaking highly of this place to anyone planning a visit up this way.

Lovely hotel and will definitely be returning. The restaurant was very good too! It was good that the room had a door out to a small terrace and the car park so I was able to use this to let the dog out.

We were put in a room in the attic only had sky lights extremely hot can’t open windows because raining so felt like you were in a box no view at all just the walls very claustrophobic. Bed low and uncomfortable main problem was the beams hit head about 36 times food was good but very over priced on whole couldn’t wait to leave it was not a good stop over they put us in that room even though website said they still had 4 others same category available on website deluxe king size so why put us in the worst room all others on site had windows and view but you put us at top of building in a horrible hot nothing room that should be used for storage only had we not travelled so far to get to your hotel we would have left on complaint in morning you said it was hot all rooms well it was raining and 14 deg so ???find that strange you also said what room and oh yes they always hit there heads that room again if you had spare rooms why not put us in there . Not liked we turned up and only room you had left and did we want it I booked this months ago was mislead by your pictures on web

The Cow is an upmarket boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant.

Staff made us and our dog welcome. Food was delicious - we had 2 nights and two breakfasts. The room was large, sunny, tastefully modern and the bathroom and shower were great.

The pub and restaurant was lovely, the bedroom was very comfortable, clean but it got very hot during the night were my wife and i didnt get a good night sleep.. the staff was ok..not very friendly when we arrived at the cow pub.. the place was nice and location perfect but we wouldnt staff there again.

What a lovely property, extremely comfortable room - the bed is wonderfully comfortable. Dining options superb as also sister property Bluebells just up the road, absolutely delicious food and marvellous service. Would definitely recommend this property and would stay again.

Loved staying here. Dog friendly rooms available. Well set out ,with access to outdoor patio from dog friendly ground floor room. Clean and comfortable . Staff kind ,friendly ,helpful and approachable. Excellent breakfast. Also had a very good evening meal at the sister hotel,The Bluebell nearby. Will definitely try and stay here again whenever we are visiting family in Derby.

We only stayed one night and generally had an excellent stay. The owners have obviously invested a great deal of money and effort into the business. I could not give it a full 5 star as there were some small problems that need addressing. Hot water kept going cold, bathroom radiator thermostat was broken in the full-on position so the bathroom was over heated all the time, noise coming from other bedroom was sometimes a problem. Service was first class and the breakfast was 5 star/excellent. Décor was also high quality

we travelled up to Derby and found The Cow, by accident as we needed a dog friendly hotel. the team were great and incredible accommodating. Breakfast was to die for, so if you are nearby and you need a modern accommodation then the The Cow is for you :-)

The Cow is well worth a visit. Loved our room, clean, comfortable and well appointed with a spacious, modern bathroom. The staff are friendly and breakfast great. We only stayed a night but plan on going back to explore the local countryside.

It felt safe in COVID times all the systems they had put in place were effective.

Beautiful pub with rooms, and the staff were so friendly. The food was excellent although we didn't realise there was a limited menu on Sunday (mainly roasts and one Veg and one fish option). The only niggle was the bed was not that comfortable and creaked like mad!

I want to say it’s awful don’t stay just so that whenever I want to book a room here there will be one available that’s how incredible this hidden little gem is! The rooms are absolutely stunning!! I’ve stayed in many suites across the country and this is by far the best place I’ve ever stayed and our room wasn’t even a suite that’s how amazing it is!! The staff are very polite and attentive. The room definitely has the wow factor when you walk in and that doesn’t go away throughout your stay. My partner and I said to each other on several occasions throughout our stay that it’s amazing, so comfy and relaxing! The shower was incredible, one of the best showers I’ve ever had. The decor in the room is beautiful and very classy. The TV is a really good size and has Netflix! The facilities in the room were also very impressive with a fridge, safe, coffee machine, kettle etc. The bed was extremely comfortable to the point where we would have definitely stayed another night had we not had commitments at home. The duvet literally takes you as one of its own! We didn't want to move! Our room had a patio which was a plus point for us as we are smokers so was nice to be able to pop out as we pleased. The breakfast was incredible. Our table was beautifully presented for us when we came into the bar this morning for breakfast and the continental breakfast was lovely and fresh.The full English which was also included was perfection on a plate! We look forward to staying here once a month!

The rooms are done to a high standard. The food offering really let it down unfortunately. Service was neither here nor there.

Disappointed with meal on Sunday. Felt the rosy meat and vegetables were tasteless.

Well appointed room with excellent facilities. Pub excellent and food gorgeous. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Beautifully refurbished to a very high specification. Restaurant attempting to do up market food which was good but not necessarily outstanding and not value for money. That said Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. Overall experience good- quite a way from the beaten track but lovely countryside.
