I like the location of this hotel for shopping, restaurants and theater. We did go downtown for a few pubs and it was $25 each way in cab. Hotel is pretty good. Found it clean and has friendly staff.

It was a good stay. I was disappointed to not get a balcony.. again. My second trip asking for a balcony room but didn’t get one. Not sure if this a hotels.com issue or lack of rooms as the building was busy.

Had an amazing stay as always. The staff are fantasic and go above and beyond. The last several stays have been for medical appointments and they always try to accommodate my husband and myself who are both diabled.

The room had a weird smell. I think it was from the pool.

The stay was fair. The hotel seems old, the flooring was so uneven that the dresser drawers didn’t stay closed. They kept opening.
Housekeeping consisted of only making the bed. My towels weren’t changed (although I followed the instructions to indicate I wanted new ones), coffee wasn’t replaced, and the housecoat in the room had so many holes in it from being so worn out.
For the cost and how many hotels are around I would chose elsewhere to stay.

If you are fine being treated like a business transaction then stay here.
The rooms are decent, beds are comfy, but there’s a lack of friendliness and hospitality from the staff.
This was my third time staying at this specific property and my experience has been the same each time.
With so many other hotels so close by, I would stay elsewhere next time.

For a Sandman I would say it is sub-par.
The staff are decent.
The hotel feels old and dated.
The lighting in the rooms are dark- even for a hotel.

My go to hotel in St. John's Always a good experience. Presence of two restaurants is a bonus.

The wifi was really slow, it would barely connect on my phone and would stay connected on my laptop, well left to go shopping at 12 ask if we could have someone change the towels and garbage in our room well we were out and came back 5 hours later and nothing was done and had to call down again to get towels and our toilet backed up for no reason

Always enjoyed staying at the Sandman but this time was a little disappointed. Stayed 3 nights , and asked for a little housekeepibg after 2nd night, which never received. Dont mind that so much but i dont like being charged a pet fee for each night and no housekeeping.

We have stayed at the Sandman many times and the first time on the ground floor. Would not prefer that again. Slightly noisier and curtains had to be completely closed to even change. Otherwise good but would not stay on ground level again.

I’ve been here so many times I don’t even know what to say for the review every time I come to the city twice a year I stay here it will never change. I love it.

I thought the room and the property was beautiful and comfortable. The staff was patient. I wish i knew that i had to pay an extra $250 plus my room fee ($440.14) because of the kind of card i had, I was never informed beforehand. 6/10 experience for me.
