Lovely old school hotel with nice staff. A highlight of Grantham town centre which is pretty run down sadly

Excellently located to wander around Grantham centre. Key code operated car park was a welcome addition and was only £4 for one nights / two day trip.
Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming but it appeared there was nobody on hand to help with baggage up the stairs, unfortunately.
The room was very clean but was tired in places and so was the bathroom - most of the woodwork could do with a spruce up but the suite was in good condition.
I would definitely stay here again should I have the need to visit Grantham.

This is a stunning hotel dating back to 1200. Well kept with a lot of activity nearby. Stairs may be a challenge for older people. We stayed here 1 night.

Check in time is 4.00pm, which seems rather late. We arrived around 3.00pm, our room was ready but had to pay £10 for early check in, ridiculous!! Room was Dusty, shower head needed attention, bathroom blind bent and very dusty, basin had a very large crack - unhygienic! We had to change rooms as a problem with the plumbing. Second room, television had no signal, sink draining away slowly obviously blocked. Shower head not working properly, old chewing gum pack under window. This hotel could much be better, with a bit more care and attention.

Nice hotel, staff were friendly. Outside area lovely. Lunch lovely, dinner ok. Breakfast wasn’t that good, laced in pepper and no fruit and £18!!!

We were very happy with our one night at stay, booked at the last minute. The hotel is exceptionally good value for money. It is a very interesting historic building, right in the centre of Grantham. The staff could not have been more helpful, the cocktails were fantastic, and breakfast was well worth the extra charge. There is also a huge car park at the rear. we definitely recommend it!

I liked the room I was given which was superficially very luxurious. However, the bed and pillows did feel/smell a bit weary. No bedroom view and very noisy equipment outside. The main rooms are lovely and the staff exceptionally helpful.

Within walking difference to everything and convenient for restaurants and pubs. Hotel lack a bit of attention to detail. Dust on dado rail, missing light bulbs in bathroom only I small bottle of water in a double room and tv signal not good. Also on the Saturday when we arrived there was a bbq with loud music in the courtyard that went on till the evening. A nice historic hotel but could be better.

The hotel is conveniently situated in the middle of Grantham, the High street is at the front of the hotel.
Good parking at the rear (cost £4). We were given a room with an independant front door which was useful. the room was upstairs with two well lit windows. The bathroom is large with a good shower. Usual amenities in the room.
The room is spacious and clean (except under the bed). There is no Air conditioning. We were charged £20 extra for our dog. We went elsewhere for breakfast as it was not available in the hotel.
We would rate this an upper 3 star hotel.

Given ground floor on courtyard and was a little worried about noise but no problem. Paid £4 for parking which wasn’t advertised on hotels.com but it was a big car park and safe and had a barrier. Can’t comment on the rest of the hotel as we booked in at reception and went outside to courtyard rooms. Didn’t opt for breakfast as was up and on our way. Would stay again if in Grantham

Fantastic hotel with so much history. Very quirky and creeky love it. Food just yummy first class. Only one issue was the mattress was hard as rock not had any sleep and we nust have been above the outside door as it was bang bang bang when anyone went in and out.

Great hotel with warm, friendly, helpful staff.
Room was a bit warm at night but there are instructions in the room to speak to reception if your room is too hot or cold which you can do but by then it's the following day.
The restaurant food was excellent.

Stunning old building, right in the heart of Grantham making everything we wanted just a short walk away. The staff were all very friendly and courteous at all times. £4 a day parking was a major plus point. Would thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful room (though light on towels and lacked hand soap) with a nice restaurant. We did find the staff to be quite curt and sharp, very different than the service we enjoyed in London & Paris. I recommend the accommodations, perhaps we just caught the staff on an off day or two.

A super old aged town centre hotel. Facility is great and carries a wonderfully traditional feel about about it.

Bar and restaurant staff, house keeping and front of house were all very good and clealy working hard to look after customers.
On our first night the bed was both ridiculously soft and broken (215), no matter we were moved first thing in the morning without any issue - again, staff were brilliant.
Second room (214), second night the 3am fire alarm was presumably set off by accident, no issue we got back to sleep. Sadly the bathroom had almost no cold water, no shower, broken fan, two lights out and no way to hold the window open.
