This was our 2nd time at Big tree little cabin. We love the cabin, it is very peaceful and very clean. Thank you for hosting us. It was a wonderful getaway from the city. We will definitely be back.

Very clean except front porch/entrance. Refrigerator and bed were too small and bed was very uncomfortable and saggy. Told rental company about our complaints and nothing was talked about after our concerns. Didn’t get good rest because of the worn out mattress.

Perfect spot for our family. We enjoyed the entire stay. Our children loved the giant tree.

My parents live on the lake but we like to have our own space when we visit. My husband and I have rented a few different places throughout the years. Big Tree Little Cabin has been our favorite so far! The property is spacious and the big tree is amazing. The cabin is very cozy and clean. There were plenty of towels, linens, and supplies to make our stay simple. Check in and out was very straightforward and easy. Hopefully this property will be available when we plan to visit again!

The cabin was nice and very conveniently located for my stay. I would recommend to anyone visiting the Lake Egypt/Marion Illinois area for a short stay.

After a long drive, it was especially nice to get to this small awesome cabin. We were pleasantly surprised with the luxuriousness on the inside. We stayed one night and it was perfect!

This cabin is the absolute best. It is so clean and beautiful. It is well stocked and in a great location. The outdoor space is great for a fire and the kitchen is great for cooking while on your adventure. I highly recommend this place! We’ve stayed there twice now and intend to make it a yearly thing!

This property was very clean and homey. Our children loved the loft area. When we pulled up, there was a cute little family of deer. I would recommend staying here to any one.

We enjoyed our weekend at the little cabin with the big tree! Definitely off the beaten track, but a perfect quiet weekend. Everything about the cabin was perfect.

Great place, clean and “home feeling”. We love going to this cabin. We haven’t even arrived yet and my wife is asking when we’re returning. The kids enjoyed the swing and giant tree out in the back. With the addition of the benches, firepit and barbeque station, there’s more stuff to do. We had one great night for s’mores, dinner by the firepit, and campfire stories. Memories our children would remember for the rest of their lives!!! Haven’t made reservations yet but we’ll be back for sure. AGAIN. High recommended. I hate to recommend. We want the place to ourselves!!!

Perfect size and location for a 4 day getaway for me and my wife! Conveniently located to the lake, restaurants, shops and 2 state parks yet secluded enough for some quiet time at the firepit on the beautiful grounds. Very charming and clean, had all the things we needed, just as listed. Will def return!

It was a perfect getaway for my wife and I for our anniversary. It was nice, clean, peaceful, quiet, and cozy. Just what we needed!

My husband and I are planning to do a beachy honeymoon in January when we're sick of the Chicago snow, but figured we should still have a cute mini getaway right after our wedding. This was the absolute perfect spot- I wish we booked it for longer! We decided to take some impromptu pictures of me in my wedding dress in front of the beautiful tree and Kat came over and kindly offered to take some pics for us, too! She mentioned that she is rarely in the area and didn't want to impose but also wanted to offer a helping hand. It was incredibly thoughtful and not imposing at all. The cabin was just the right size. Everything we needed was there and it was very clean and orderly. The Dollar General a couple miles away has fresh produce and grocery items so that was convenient too. Like many others, we will definitely be coming back to stay here.

We had a great stay! It was super cozy and comfortable. We used the outside pit to grill burgers and even made a fire! We loved seeing the deer and geese. We were welcomed by the neighborhood dog Foxy!! We loved the stay and your awesome hospitality. I will definitely check with you for hunting season to stay a full week. Thanks again

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very cute with a modern touch and very clean. The host was very nice and accommodating. Check in was hassle free. Even though the listing said to bring your own firewood and charcoal the host had some there for us to use which I thought was very nice. They also had a little snack bin for their guests which I thought added a special touch. The bathroom was nice and roomy and they provided enough linens for our stay. The beautiful tree was an added bonus and I definitely enjoyed its magical vibes. There are no public swimming areas which was a bummer but I should of asked prior to booking as I assumed there would be. However, if you had a boat you would be more than happy with the location as there was a marina not even 5 mins away. They do offer kayaks for rent but it was too hot for us so we decided to take a trip to Rend Lake for a day of swimming which was about 40mins away. The area was pretty quiet but on our first night the neighbors were having a pool party and at times they were kind of loud but it didn’t spoil our evening. Our second night there was a lot more peaceful and we got to truly enjoy some quiet time. The only thing I didn’t like was the bed in the bedroom. The bed was uncomfortable and didn’t provide much support. However, I will say that bed type preferences are subjective so others may find it just fine. Other then the bed we loved our stay and I would recommend this place to friends that want a nice getaway. Thank you for hosting us.

The place we stayed at was called Big Tree and Little Cabin, it was very nice,served us well, liked the privacy and it was very very clean and neet when we arrived, I hope that when we left we did a good job of making it a look easier for them to clean, and yes we would recommend and come back,had just a little issue with the lock on the door when we left today it did not want to lock but we did it 5-6 times and it finally locked, thank you again and it really is a nice place ,,,, Larry

This was our 2nd year staying at the property for the 4th of July! Clean, smells good, AC works like a charm! Close to the water! Comfortable and comes with all you need! We will definitely return for a 3rd time next year!

Was traveling through and will definitely be back for more time to explore the area the sights were unbelievable and the cabin is so sweet for a small family!

Amazing location for stargazing and witnessing local wildlife. The Tulip Poplar tree is absolutely stunning! The cabin was immaculately kept; very updated and clean. Our host was very responsive and accommodating. Definitely wish we had more time booked!
