Amenities were good. Great breakfast. Noisy next to train track but we knew about the location.
One star because during check in, the staff tried to trick us into paying extra 25euro to upgrade to a different room in order to get 2 bath towels, even though we booked a room for 2 adults. We ended up getting 2 towels anyways but it was very dishonest of them to say we had to upgrade in order to get two towels we should have gotten instead of one.

What a fantastic 4 day stay. I’ve been to Vernazza many times, however this was my best accommodation. Great service in all accounts, staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Great roof top terrace and breakfast was so yummy. I will definitely stay there again.

The service was good. Only complaints is that it does not have an elevator if you have lots of luggage and the room including the bathroom is very small.

Close to the train station and the Main Street of Vernazza. Our hosts were exceptional as they organized their time to carry our luggage back and forth to the train. The elevator at the station is out and the many deep stone steps made this all the more helpful. The room is tiny, as is the bathroom. Hooks to hang things would be helpful. The bed is futon style near the floor. Breakfast was filling and lovely— lots of pastry.

Nice little room for one night in Vernazza. Comfy bed and great shower pressure! It was very tight in the room but for 1 night it worked out fine! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location!

The service and friendliness of the staff was amazing! Everything was spotless and very well maintained. The setting was beautiful and the location could not have been better as it was only a minute’s walk from the train. We will be back!

Evelyn, Esther, and Jenny are all lovely. Great coffee every day and lovely assortment of breakfast items. Just a pleasure. 4 days was too short. Hike from Vernazza is very difficult but worth the effort. Don’t go if there is a chance of rain. Very slippery! Pam and Rod. Whistler Canada

Lovely hotel in Vernazza close to the railroad station and only minutes away from the main business area with lots of restaurants and bars. Our double bed room was tight but it had a private bathroom and a view up the hills above the town. Breakfasts were included and provided a good variety of continental foods. Evelyn, the manager, was very friendly and personal and everyone else on the staff whom we encountered was great. Everyone spoke English, too.

The owner of the hotel and the restaurant below is by far one of the kindest, most attentive people I have ever met! TREMENDOUS THANK YOU TO HER!! The hotel itself is AMAZING!! Beautiful and PERFECT location, and the breakfast in the morning was incredible. I absolutely loved the terrace here too!! I couldn’t have asked for a better place in Vernazza!

Highly recommend Pensione Sorriso for a stay in Vernazza. Evelyn was a wonderful host and went beyond expectations in helping us enjoy our stay. The hotel has a bright breakfast area/lobby and a nice patio/garden to enjoy. We stayed in a room with a private bath and balcony. Although no sea view from the rooms, there is one from the patio and the sea is only a two or three minute walk from the hotel.

Pensione Sorriso was a great place to stay. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was very good. The room was a bit small for 2 people, but otherwise clean and cozy. Just a short walk to the train station.

Pensione Sorriso is a true gem. The all-women staff are incredible: patient, helpful, multi-lingual, always assisting guests, and they carry out everything with such grace. It is a clean, comfortable, welcoming small hotel, with a lovely breakfast. Many come to Cinque Terre, rent a tiny room, and endure crowds; this pensione has a patio and private rooftop terrace where you can relax with a beer in peace, enjoy the incredible views, and smile.

Asked for a takeaway breakfast and there was a bit of a mix up. It worked out.

Only staff to greet us and at breakfast - never saw anyone beyond those times.
Some staff could not speak English so it was difficult to communicate (breakfast and cleaners).
Was sure we booked a room with an ensuite (which we did have) yet we were informed it was an upgrade?
