This was a good hotel in a convenient location. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. For areas of improvement, the parking situation could be improved to reduce stress at check-in, being that the hotel requires you to make a separate request to get parking, even though the description says that parking is available (but it is not actually available unless you know that you have to make the separate request in advance because otherwise it is “full”). Luckily there was parking available in a separate parking structure just a short walk around the corner. Secondly, all of the pillows were miserably flat and uncomfortable in our room and also in our friends’ rooms.

Overall a fairly decent hotel in Paradiso which is about a 20 minute walk away from central Lugano. We were staying for 4 nights and didn't have food here so our review is predominantly focussed on the room and staff. The room was large which was nice but we had a glass headboard which was very strange and was quite worrying sometimes. Coffee machine provided in the room is a great touch but to only provide 2 (TWO) capsules per day is very limited. Give them credit, when I asked for more I received them but c'mon people, this is a coffee loving country, guests will want a coffee in the morning, then when they return later in the afternoon as a pick-me-up, minimum 4 per day please?

Would have checked out if the booking was refundable, worst room I booked in Italy !! For the price paid! Definitely need to maintain the rooms by all means. The only thing that was good the lobby well maintained.

Television had no English Language channels other than CNBC financial news. Plate glass 'curtains' trapped my finger between them and the ledge; still very sore 3 days later. It would appear from one of the rooftop photos that you can see the lake. I didn't see it when I went on the rooftop.

Very nice hotel, located in front od a beautiful piazza full of good restaurants. Comfortable, clean room. Excellent brrakfast and friendly staff.

Nothing special. Just a easy place to spend the night.

Clean, good staff, breakfast as well, negative points are the parking which have to be pre-booked earlier plus rooms have no closets. Other features are fine.

If this is a 4 star hotel then Motel 6 is a luxury resort. What a disaster & a disappointment. The room was horrible. The floor boards were coming up in the bathroom from water damage, the bedroom looked worse than a college dormatory with chips of paint coming off the walls, there was damage everywhere! Worst of all was the bed... it was like sleeping on concrete. We both tossed & turned and woke with back aches. Also the neighbors in the residential building nextdoor were fighting and you could hear everything with the windows closed! The staff also didn't notify us ahead of time that parking must be reserved, so we had to find an alternative parking spot after a very long drive. The staff was nice, but the hotel room was definitely motel status. I can't find any reason why the Swiss would call this a 4 star instead of a 2.5. Sorry, I would have had better sleep in my car.

Unfortunately NOT the quiet room i requested and was not only at the hub of lift activity, service room etc but actually adjoiining the service lift! Extreme noise in the mornings and evenings. I didn't want to complain and ask to be moved, that's a nuisance after one has unpacked, but next stay would certainly want a guarantie of a room far away from the lifts. At threat of cancelling! I have stayed a number of times in the past and this is a first so the hotel remains an option. The Lugano City Tax PLUS RESORT TAX mounted to CHF 6.20 per day.! Extreme considering one still has to pay to use all the facitities the city provides.
