Downtown hotel on a holiday = quiet neighborhood with not much open. The suite was very nice (good size for the $$), but the restaurant was a disappointment. It was unexpectedly closed one morning due to someone calling out sick.
We may try a different neighborhood next time.

The living room furnishings are comfortable and not econolodge cheap, too firm, upholstered boxes. Valet parking staff are excellent though the great location means there is loads to walk to directly. The front desk staff is welcoming and happy to offer local insight. A nice stay.

The room was clean but the building and amenities are dated and dark. The website description and photos are deceiving. For close to the same price you could stay at the Omni which is 2 blocks away.

The Valet & Front Desk & Bartender were GREAT. We had our small dog & happily found ourselves upgraded to a bigger suite that was great - being RIGHT NEXT TO the Capital Park was great for easy dog walks. Very nice older Hotel with wonderful Staff!

-Not a lot of late night dining options in the area. This is more of a Richmond thing, not a hotel thing.

I've stayed here before and I've always liked the hotel. That said, I self-parked my motorcycle and was charged $ for valet. And in the morning did not have hot water in the shower. It was 'just' warm enough to shower, but not comfortably.

The atmosphere at this hotel felt somewhat impersonal. While I had positive interactions with two of the valet staff, who were both incredibly kind and personable, the experience at the front desk was less welcoming. The staff seemed disengaged, with no eye contact or smiles during our interactions. I believe this is likely unintentional, but I hope management takes the opportunity to emphasize in training how vital it is for guests to feel genuinely welcomed, as if they are entering a home. A warm reception goes a long way in creating a positive experience.

Older building that appeared to be modernized over the past couple of years with style that feels a bit cheap. Property could use essential updates. Room felt used without update or maintenance , lumpy bed, dirty feeling floors with bare feet and clogged sink.
Some of the positives include friendly staff. Safe and walkable area and big suites that have an actual living room.

The suite is a true suite, very very spacious. The staff is very friendly. I didn't like the restaurant and bar being closed on Sunday. The elevators are extremely small..... Overall a pleasant stay.
