During my stay, I left a valuable gold chain in my room. After housekeeping cleaned the room, the chain was missing. I immediately contacted management and security, but unfortunately, it was not recovered. What disappointed me most was how the situation was handled — rather than helping me resolve the issue, management seemed more focused on shifting the blame.
To add to the confusion, I found a note in my room offering someone else 30,000 Hyatt points as compensation for a similar issue. When I brought this to their attention, management quickly took the letter, claiming it was meant for another guest.
If you're concerned about the safety of your personal belongings, I would recommend reconsidering staying at this property. My experience has left me questioning the level of security and accountability provided here.

This was my second time staying at this resort and it was definitely not as good as the first time. To start with the check-in process, we had to wait for an hour an a half for our room to be ready in the hotel lobby. Check-in time was supposed to be at 3pm and we were not provided any details aside from the room was not ready. Around 3:30pm we had to had the front desk attendant for an update as they had a shift change. They didn’t know and had to check. The manager came over to tell us it would be another half hour wait for the room and they would do something for the inconvenience. They never ended up doing anything at all. Nor do they offer the welcome check-in drink like they used to. Additionally, right after checking in they now have these employees of the Hyatt parent company Playa in blue shirts who try to sell you on a membership package. They start off by saying they will be offering you a spa credit or romantic dinner, but then it turns into them asking you to attend a 90 minute presentation and they want you to pay $50 for that to ensure you show up. It is worse than getting a timeshare sales pitch at check-in! They no longer offer as large of a beer and liquor selection either. For the 5 restaurants they now recommend reservations to be able to get in and all 5 are never open on the same day. I do not know if they have changed ownership, but the Hyatt all-inclusive resort experience is not what it used to be.

This resort was great. hospitality I will give it a 10 food. Restaurants were amazing. Our favorite restaurant was the Asian food. Great hotel! Beautiful views, beautiful beach, amazing buffet selection. Actual clean/healthy food. This resort was amazing, however I went during the week Mon-Fri and not sure how busy it gets on the weekends. Thursday night the restaurants started getting crowded. Most don’t open until 5-6pm and you have to make a reservation. There is a Buffett for breakfast/lunch open during select hours (not for dinner). The beach was amazing and big. Enough space to not feel crowded & secluded from other tourists/hotels. I would say this hotel is #1 for the beach, as the other resorts had smaller beaches which are more crowded. My only complaint is they advertise as all-inclusive (which most things are) except the spa which is not included. Maybe that’s common knowledge but we were unaware it wouldn’t be included. Overall, the resort was amazing and I would absolutely come back. Gym was clean & spacious, food was good and plentiful, coffee shop was always opened and quick.

Hotel was under construction. We were there for a wedding and several of us, at least 5, had to change rooms several times due to construction noise, paint thinner smell, no air conditioning or hot water. Food was just ok. Spa was nice.

Staff need to be more friendly and smile more. It’s not polite when one staff suggests to give tip his coworker. Always remember TIPS are optional…and very annoying when staff trying to sell membership …

We loved our time at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. We stayed at a room not yet renovated at the main tower, and it was absolutely amazing: spacious, convenient and well furnished. We could not believe it was one of the "old" rooms. The dining options are excellent, with plenty of options for everyone. Our preferred place was the beach: beatiful, safe, with easy access and, in practice, for resort guests only. The stores inside the resort were closed, and would like to have the opportunity to buy small stuff, including souvenirs, in the hotel, without the need for a trip to town.

There are definitely pros and cons to this property. The rooms were so hot and humid that it was uncomfortable to sleep, especially after being in the sun all day. The thermostat must have been programmed to not go below 75°. It was so humid in there that all of our clothes were damp. Some people in our group didn’t have any hot water in their showers. Not pleasant , wouldn’t go back for this reason.
As far as service, the guys at the swim up bar were fantastic! Gerardo at the Italian restaurant was great! Not realizing there was only outdoor seating at the steakhouse, blaze was unbearable in that heat. The food and service were great but it was far too hot to only offer outdoor seating without the help of more fans. On our last night, our group went to the Thai restaurant and 3 of the 12 of us became very sick which was unfortunate. The service wasn’t good, it took forever to get our food and drinks. We had a reservation but it took them 20min just to build our table when they were unoccupied so that was frustrating. It was not the kind of end to our trip that we were hoping for. Thank goodness for good friends to make the best of it but I wouldn’t return to this location.
