I was staying here 6 years ago and at that time the hotel was old and need to be renovated, so 6 years forward nothing have happen except it is still in badly need of renovation.
However, location is great and the service is friendly and professional.

We’ve had an amazing stay at Le Méridien. We were welcomed by a professional yet very friendly frontdesk and given the keys to our room 3 hours before normal check-in. The room was spacious and had a beautiful view overlooking the Alster Lake. The breakfast buffet is so good - and so is the Heritage Restaurant for a night ‘in’. Located on the 9th floor, the view is even better. The entire staff has been very friendly to us and our 3 y/o. Kids being allowed in the pool (family-time 8am-6pm) was part of the reason we chose the hotel and it’s been the best stay. We’re definately staying there again if we’re coming back to Hamburg.

We stayed there for four nights. It was a great location. The area around the hotel was nice. There was a lot of construction that made it a little bit difficult but overall was great. The service and the hotel was great. Everybody spoke perfect English. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The room was very comfortable Bed was very comfortable. The kids love the pool and overall I highly recommended if you’re in Hamburg to stay in the hotel, specially with family.

We stayed 5 nights in the Prestige Lake Suite, a very spacious, beautifully decorated room on the 8th floor with stunning views on the lake. The room is perfect for a longer stay: living area, seperate bedroom, lots of storage space and a spacious bathroom, all with lake view. Breakfast was good, many different options available. We only had dinner once in the hotel, it was good quality but maybe a bit overpriced. In the area there are many nice restaurants to discover. The only point of criticism is the service. All staff is polite and professional, but also quite cold and impersonal. A more personal approach would make a big difference. Is that a reason not to choose this hotel? Definitely not, we would go back if we’re visiting Hamburg again. The hotel’s location is convenient and the hotel has a lot to offer, but a more personal touch would make this place outstanding.

Hotel and staff were wonderful. It’s in very good shape and the room service menu was great and reasonable price.
Only negatives: the bathroom door is all glass and on a track that makes quite a bit of noise and lets all the bathroom light into the bedroom. So if someone uses the bathroom at night - we woke each other up a bunch. Had an issue with a subpar meal from room service but the hotel manager graciously comped it and treated us to a breakfast. All class and deeply appreciated Would definitely stay here again.

A nice hotel in a great location. It’s right on the water and there are great views of the water. It’s also close to the train station and the art museum.

Amazing hotel in a fabulous location, overlooking the stunning lake. Staff could not do more. If you turn right out of the hotel, and then right again, walk to the end of the road and you’ll find lots of local restaurants and shops. Lovely little bar over the road on the edge of the lake. Would definitely recommend.
