Our room was huge and included more amenities than what is usual at hotels. A microwave is few and far between. We did have to wait at the front desk for 15 minutes (no line) for someone to arrive and check us in (there was a sign that they would be back soon). TV is huge with lots of channels/options. Very spacious and updated, calming decorating

The check-in person was rude, unhelpful and the worst I have experienced. My wife talked to another guest who was having troubles with his room key and needed assistance from the front desk that also complained about this individual.
I travel through Des Moines a few times a year and have used this Hotel in the past. Never again.

Room was spacious, shower and bed were good. Weird noise coming from the air duct, and front desk staff were not too friendly. Breakfast was lacking, and coffee service was not maintained... pity, as it could be an awesome hotel.

Hotel was very clean, beds were extremely comfortable and hotel was quiet. Breakfast was perfect, with many options available and was extremely happy that the management opened it up to us a few minutes early as we were in town for a softball tournament and our girls had to leave by 6:30 in the morning.
The pool, spa and outdoor patio was nice as well.
The only thing I would suggest would be to have larger waste baskets in the rooms and add water bottle filling stations.

I was surprised at the condition of my room. The wall paper was actually coming off the wall in several places. The mattress was horrible. It seamed to fall in on the center of the mattress which made it impossible to sleep. I was not able to turn the air conditionee off and it stayed extremely cold in our room. I attempted many times to hit the arrow on the unit that normally allows you to make it warmer. I was told the next morning that there was an actual thermostat but homely I never saw one. I was so disappointed with my stay.

Room was prepaid but upon arrival was total unavailable. Was told third party booking were normally overbooked so if you want a certain type you need to book direct. With property . We just wanted two queen beds for three adults, after twenty minutes of discussion we got two doubles.
