The shower was disgusting not the best smell outside kind crappy on the outside but bed was nice

I would not say the Ventura Grand Inn was "Grand" however it was comfortable and pleasant. Our room was clean and the location is convenient. The breakfast is very minimal but adequate. We would stay again.

AVOID- disgustingly dirty with rude manager.
Our room had what looked like blood splatters on the wall, and the bed sheets and towels had stains and hairs on them. We went for a shower as we had had a very long day, but found that the bath also had hairs in and someone else's used bar of soap. The towels also had yellow stains on them.
We took pictures of all this before showering, then showed these to the manager to ask if we could move rooms. She was very rude, claiming that what looked like blood splatters were part of the 'paint' of the room and said she will begin our check out process if we are not happy with the room, but that she can not refund us as we had been there longer than 20 minutes and used the facilities (it was around 35 minutes after check in when we went to complain).
She showed us a word document on her computer which stated the 20 minute 'policy', but we were not made aware of this at the time of booking through Expedia and she did not make us aware of this on check in. We asked that if it is not possible to refund us or move rooms, then could the room be cleaned.
She said that new towels and bedding could be provided, but refused to clean the splatter off the walls. We asked why not and at this point, she told us that we were "checking out" and begun speaking on the phone to someone in another language.
We checked and there was nowhere else to stay in the vicinity, so panicked, we agreed to just the towels and bedding so we could keep the room and not

The room in which we stayed was clean and comfortable: No bedbugs, a refrigerator that keeps food & drink cold, working plumbing & AC, etc. Sure, it's not perfect. Maybe it needs some paint touchups on the baseboards, a less rusty shower curtain rod, a more secure backup door lock (it's a chain)... but everything one needs is provided and it all works just fine.
It's located in a very walkable neighborhood with good food nearby. Absolutely NO COMPLAINTS! We plan to return in the winter for snowshoeing and biking, and will stay at the Ventura Grand Inn again!

Really large room. No breakfast but wasnt really expecting any. Beds were fine but very squeeky every movement created a noisy rattling etc. Everything else was fine. A bit tired but that is sort of due to it being a winter ski resort.

Mold in the bathroom. Bed frame is barely put together and makes a ton of noise with even just sitting on the bed. They also need new pillows, they are old and clumped

The room was large, clean and had a comfortable bed.
The bathroom, however, looked like a do-it-yourself project gone bad. It was clean, though. The parking lot is quite torn up.
The property is fine for a one night, lower cost option for Mammoth.

Considering the price was one of the lowest in town. I guess you get what you pay for. Property is in poor repair. Middle of summer and the swimming pool not useable. ice machine broken.
