Raíz is an outstanding hotel located very close to the beach and Punta Zicatela, but just far enough away to ensure a peaceful stay. The staff are exceptional. From the moment I arrived after a very long red-eye Ximena and Brenda at the reception were always super friendly and knowledgeable. The food was superior, Mitka in the kitchen always serving delicious food, but more than that the staff are just so warm, friendly and inviting. Bartender Luis and servers and bartenders Arath and Sebastian make a mean cocktail with interesting twists using local Oaxacan ingredients and were beyond friendly. This place won’t soon be forgot and I hope to return sometime in the future. Just maybe when it’s not so hot.

Staff was very attentive, nice, very happy and cheerful. Made us feel at home. They helped us with any questions, recommendations. We enjoyed spending time at the bar and pool. I would definitely stay there again.

I absolutely loved everything about raíz. Not one thing I didn’t like. I will be back. Loved the friendly staff and their delicious breakfast.

This is a fantastic hotel - clean, simple but stylish, and excellent location to the beach and endless cafes, restaurants and bars. The small pool is nice to cool off during the day. The hotel never feels busy and is quiet. We enjoyed our stay. If you're looking for a cool hotel near a surfing beach, then this is the one. Very few negatives - the breakfast (additional fee) wasn't great and was however a little pricy.

Great stay. Clean and modern apartment less then 5 minutes walk to the beach and close to all the restaurants and shops of Punta Zicatela. Would definitely stay again.

Paid for 3 nights . Arrived and there was no tv , restaurant on premise closes at 3 and nothing within walking distance to eat. Moved to a different hotel after first night due to the inconvenience and they wouldn’t refund the other nights 2 and just kept the money . Definitely would not recommend.

This place is sophisticated and fun. The rooms are spacious and modern, the on-site food and bar are really good, the staff is helpful and engaged. We would highly recommend this place.
