We were stuck in Hereford during a storm, so it was fortunate that they had rooms. We felt it was a bit overpriced, but enjoyed the overall decor and amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable. Could use a few updates, like key cards and coffee machines.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable room. Accessible to shops, with lots of them. Hotel in centre brilliant for shopping.

The overall hotel is fine, but I cannot rate it higher due to the fundamental issues. There was no hot water (on all three days I stayed) and the heating did not work.
I was there for a wedding and heard the same from 5 other rooms - so it's not a one off issue- and when I told reception they just said it's an old building and not much can be done.
I am quite flexible with hotel issues but a shower for me is mandatory.

I will never stay here again. I stayed for one night around the same time last year. The room was freezing, radiator didn’t work and no hot water for a shower, it was exactly the same last year….never again.

Wonderful staff and lobby level. Bed was very comfortable, but bathroom was not great. I don’t think carpet belongs in bathrooms and it smelled wet and not great. Was totally fine for one night and the bar and coffee areas were wonderful.

The hotel was clean enough but not immaculate, and generally slightly on the shabby side. Staff were pleasant and happy to help when we asked, but not proactively making sure everything was going to be fine before we had checked. If somebody booked me to stay again I wouldn't complain, but if choosing myself I'd probably look around for an alternative before booking again.

Clearly there has been investment into the front exterior, foyer, bar and lounges.
Unfortunately the room was tired looking. Paint peeling off the bath, ceiling needs painting, noisy floor boards and doors that don’t close quietly, with resulted in a poor nights sleep.
There aren’t a great deal of hotels in Hereford, so this one has no excuse for being so much better.
No warm welcome/smile from reception, pretty much just handed a peace of paper with all the necessary details on, lazy approach.

Duvet covers were feather down which were too. hot for summer making sleep uncomfortable also pillows were feather down also, unsuitable for summer .Room too hot also

Central property near the Cathedral.

Lovely old hotel and would stay again. The lift is very small and the shower pressure on the 3rd floor was very poor but the room and bed were large and comfortable.

The whole hotel is in need of an upgrade. The only good thing was a helpful young girl on reception who moved us to a better room when I complained. Also had to pay £10 to park in public car park
