Described as vintage property, retro. It's not, it's just dated. particularly the bathroom. You need to be an acrobat to get into, or out of the bath/shower and when you do the water is either scalding hot or lukewarm and barely trickles out anyway. The A/C sounds like a jet engine in the room, mine broke twice and was no better after the fix.
The property is sandwiched between a Marriot and an Intercontinental, both new properties, all charging roughly the same. Which would you prefer a room with modern plumbing, and facilities or one with a lavatory you can't throw paper into?

My second stay at the Hotel. Very laidback and quiet.
Access directly to the beach. 100m from quite a large shopping complex and a slow 15 minute walk to the central tourist area

Service was excellent from all the staff, breakfast was limited but more than sufficient and the rooms clean and comfortable if not a little dated. We spent a long time researching the area and hotels on offer and came away well pleased with our choice. We will definitely stay again

I'm happy that Baan Bayan is still around after the covid-19 pandemic. The place was beautiful as our previous visit. It is a quite and peaceful place.

Close to town centre. Nice beach front and hotel has lots of character. 3 night stay. All was good and would stay again. Only change would be to put in a modern shower not over the bath.

A great location right on the beach very quiet and traditional hotel staff were absolutely superb it could do with a bit of a upkeep as it's a bit run down in places but that's not the staffs fault. The rooms were really big and the balconies were huge. As for the breakfast it was a bit sparse in places there wasn't really anything that I was tempted to eat but then that's just me my opinion but again that wasn't the staffs of fault overall I would recommend this hotel
