the carpet was old and sticky and some of the hardware were sticky as well. Furniture were too old and had stains on them

I truly wanted to give this property 5 stars. The staff was so nice and welcoming, especially Taj. We had to wait a bit at check-in but there were chairs and the lobby was comfortable. We were on the 3rd floor at our request. We stayed in a King Suite. My grandson slept on the sofa bed. It was fine for a child but not the grandparents. The king bed was comfortable enough. It had a microwave and mini-frig. Overall the room was clean. The water did not work in the shower. Taj came and fixed it while we were out for dinner. The water worked but it was very hot, think scalding. The water pressure was good. Everything needs a makeover. It's like staying at your grandparents house in the 70's. Basically we just slept there. It was fine for a night or two. Nothing fancy but it was comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay there again because of the service.

Chose hotel based on 8.0 advertised rating. Room needed repairs. Holes torn in drapes, peeling paint in Bathroom, very dusty air vents and stained ceiling tiles.

The good. The room was clean and The bed was soft which I like. The bad. Every time you turned on the TV you had to push the input button on the side of the TV, not the remote. The TV was just fuzz and the remote didn't work on anything. I had to call the front desk to figure that out. If you are a little person, 5' tall or under this place is for you! I'm 5'7" and the toilet was too short and the diameter of the bowl was way too small. I'm not a large person, pretty average size. The sink was really low as well. Great for kids! They put the refrigerator and microwave on the same switch as one of the lights. Guess what happened next? Why is my drink warm? Lol. The toilet screamed like a pig every time we flushed it, Not exaggerating! It actually surprised us the first time and we were laughing about it. The flushometer was bad and needs to be replaced. I Felt bad for the neighbors at 1am. I hope this place is working on renovation plans. It did look like they were starting to tear out old toilets and TV's based on the old stuff I saw piled up in the parking garage. Get a new painter and drywall guy! Whoever is doing it sucks! Don't paint the door hinges! As a maintenance person I can pick this place apart. You get what you pay for when it comes to maintenance. If they put some cash into it, this place could be top notch.

The Hardman House has wonderful potential. It seems as if it has been awhile since some money has been spent to update the common areas. Most notably was the flooring in the hallways. Pretty bad. There was a note on the wall suggesting carpet renovation was in the works. Who knows how long that sign has been there.

The First room I was given was not even made up - The 2nd room had no AC, and I had to call the front desk to get the TV working. There seemed to be a party or something happening somewhere in the hotel, and It kept me awake. Overall Would not recommend this establishment.

We booked our room through hotels.com. The price was affordable the hotel was clean for the most part. Our room was very small, bathroom small, toilet against wall and television didn't work. Like underground parking/storage area and elevator to room level. Breakfast was toast and fruit only.

Location is very convenient to access east of Lake Tahoe.

Great stay

The bed and comforter are very comfortable. The location is very quiet and walkable to the historical state buildings.

The webpage lies- it makes this place look "dreamy" and historical - and it's old and run down. I was SO disappointed, &angry that my requests were not taken seriously. Getting to the room the carpeting is just crud! Signs up say Pardon our Carpet - its being replaced, However my friend stayed there a month ago and said it was the same! And the room stunk, and I could not get it to be cool in there without turning the a/c on or opening the window. It was quiet. The TV had no instructions as to how to get channels on. We finally figured it out after pushing buttons, and discovered there were instructions at the front desk - but those weren't offered when we checked in. The bathroom was dark because with 3 lights out over the mirror - I asked for lightbulbs to be replaced twice nothing happened. The toilet squeeked like squeezing a squirells' tale when you flushed it, and the fan in the bathroom sounded like World War II planes! We had 1 towel! No wash cloths, no hand towels, 1 bath towel (there were 2 of us) we did get 2 more the next morning from the maid, because front desk never delivered after asking. The price of this room is way overpriced for a Motel 6 room. Lastly the breakfast was pathetic - cold cereal, stale bread for toast, coffee and tea. And the attitude of the front desk clerk when we checked out was horrible. NO smile, no thank you. I asked for a piece of paper to write my suggestions on to fix in the room (attached)
