Sobre este casa ruralalquiler
From the undeniably impressive and colourful interior design, to its position in idyllic Batson, The Lost Lobster is a true original in our diverse portfolio of luxury holiday homes in Salcombe.
The Grade II listed 18th century cottage is situated at the head of the Batson Creek which forms part of the Salcombe estuary. Just a short walk along the creek into the yachting haven of Salcombe, The Lost Lobster is close enough to the action to get the full Salcombe experience, but far enough away to get a genuine sense of remoteness and peace and quiet. There are fabulous walks around Snapes Point, and a lovely farm shop up the hill selling fresh local produce. A gorgeous butchers and café are not far away and offer a fantastic breakfast and more excellent produce.
This beautiful waterside cottage is stacked full of incredible features and has the most wonderful character. From reclaimed rudders and up-cycled ropes, to exposed beams and twinkly lights, this is a joyful Salcombe holiday home.
The sunny terrace in front of the cottage captures the sun for most of the day and is the perfect place for a cup of tea in the morning or an evening gin and tonic. The stable doors at the front of the cottage lead into the small but well-equipped kitchen and dining area. You can fit nine around the table, but elbows need to be politely tucked in! Look out for the lobster fairy lights around the sideboard…
Up a couple of steps you'll find a good sized sitting room with a roaring wood burning stove laden with kiln-dried oak. There are plenty of colourful features and gorgeous lamps to give a great feel to this room.
Upstairs to the first floor landing (which which is wallpapered with real charts) there are three bedrooms; two super kings and one twin. Each bedroom has beautiful tones, fabrics, light fittings and eclectic trinkets. There are two bathrooms for the house, one being a shower room with hanging mackerel light fittings, and the second a bath with overhead shower.
Across the path there is a gorgeous private garden, a real sun trap, with lengths of butterfly loving verbena and clusters of climbing roses. Guests can settle around the crackling fire pit and enjoy sun drenched long summer days with no noise pollution. Throw on walking boots and explore the coastline, store crabbing buckets and wetsuits or flippers and surfboards in the outbuilding which also houses the washing machine and tumble dryer so swimming costumes and muddy trousers can be taken care of. There is also a loo and all the bits and bobs you might need to prepare drinks (there's even a dishwasher!) so you needn't go back to the main cottage when catching some rays in the garden.
Please note: the outside garden areas are unsuitable for unsupervised young children as there is a small stream at the bottom of the garden.
One well-behaved dog is very welcome at The Lost Lobster. Dogs will adore the beautiful coastal walks right from the front door. There is an additional charge for woofers!
Please note this is the reduced occupancy version of Smugglers. There is an additional triple single room on the top floor which is not included in the rental and is out of bounds. Unfortunately, if this is used, you will be charged the full occupancy price.
Please, no smoking inside the house.
