In the middle of the pandemic, but everything worked out nicely. Good breakfast and free parking in rear.

The door in the elevator did not open - hopefully fixed now.

Funny manager, reminded a little of Basil Fawlty, Fawlty towers. Room was not ready and manager said some really good one liners. Awesome!

Breakfast: reduce choices and raise quality of breakfast. This will reduce work load in the kitchen and raise quality for the customer. A win-win for both!

Despite some comments to the contrary, the breakfast was excellent when we were there at about 7h30, and there was plenty for the tour group that was there at the same time! Our room was at the back, with a good sized terrace overlooking the mountains, river and fjord, as well as the iron ore works which didn't disturb us even with the window wide open all night. Service was friendly and unobtrusive. Good value for an overnight stop.

We decided not to have dinner in the hotel, as we found the aroma of cooking mutton from the dining room was not to our liking, although in the room was fine.

The location

The breakfast was terrible and it was difficult to find anyone to help when things had run out. The fried eggs looked a week old, bread tasted stale and the water to make tea was cold. truly terrible. I felt like the mannekin photographed and attached which sat above the breakfast buffet - very disappointed. We also picked this hotel as it advertises a gym and pool - it doesn’t have a pool and the gym is currently closed! Nor does it have bicycles as advertised.

Arrival reception was super. Breakfast is a thing to improve.
