Deodar Homestay exceeded our expectations right from the get-go. The moment we entered the gates, the tall trees probably the Himalayan deodar (makes sense given the name of this homestay already implies) serenaded us with a gentle breeze. For us, this was a weekend getaway and it couldn't have been any better. What else? All we had to do was sip tea, relax with a good book, and have long conversations. Not to forget their two lovely golden retrievers and a cat that added so much to our delight! Talk about the homestay. The room; comfort; cleanliness; staff and overall hospitality - we had it all. While there is no restaurant on site, you can avail home cooked meals. Roads are good and the property has ample space for parking. To sum it all. If I have to revisit Almora, I would choose this property once again, and this time not for a 2 night stay, but for a good week long retreat and may be more. Who knows? :)

I would have loved to have more choices for breakfast.

Just everything was as perfect as one could have wished - the location, the estate, the gardens, the views, the staff, the hosts, the food, the personalised care, the attention to detail, local knowledge of the owners - superlative in every respect.

Mr Prakash was very courteous and exceptional in cooking and handling customer. Plus the owner took personal interest in all aspects of the visitors stay

Maybe nothing, or nothing at all

The staff was caring, provided personalized service, the food was prepared with utmost care and flavors. We needed a taxi for local sightseeing and Prakash made the arrangements and ensured our travel goals were met. Prakash, the professional on call was a great support and the food he prepared was liked even by my parents who are typically not fond of outside food.

Everything was excellent.

This is an excellent property in a very beautiful location ! Room and toilet are spotless clean, excellent service and great food ! Highly recommended!
