Behavior and cooperation of Staff

This is a wonderful hotel! And the staff are top notch! The location is fantastic, I runned every morning and the Central Park is just across the street. The staff pushed the button for me in the elevator, and every time the staff came out and greeted me with a smile and a lovely chat. The rooms are so beautiful, spacious and tasteful! Always tidy and clean! The most wonderful thing I have ever experienced! I love what I had with my daughter!

We had asked to pay to upgrade to a park view room on a higher floor. Such rooms were available online. The attendant at reception said they would need to check with a manager and would get back to us. They never called or followed up.

Not arrogant - but from New York fasst die Attitude des Personals gut zusammen. Als Gast ist man nicht willkommen, sondern darf sich glücklich schätzen, zeitweise Besucher sein zu dürfen. Das gilt für die Rezeption bis zum Restaurant. Wer beim Gang durch die Lobby gegrüßt wird, darf sich glücklich schätzen. Das wird allerdings dann zum Problem, wenn der Doorman bei drei Koffern oder einem Kinderwagen das Weite sucht. Oder es schon mal lange Minuten dauern kann, bis einer von neun Aufzügen auftaucht, weil nur einer bedient wird - eine nur anfangs lustige Idee bei über 40 Stockwerken.
Kurz gefasst: wer gern sehr viel Geld für plüschige Zimmer ausgibt und sich von Mitarbeitenden wie Bittsteller behandeln lassen will, ist hier genau richtig!

Bar was closed for a private event Saturday evening, which was a little disappointing. We were served in the restaurant, which was fine. Would have love for the coffee service to have last longer than 8 am especially considering it was a weekend.

Loved the location. Breakfast was pricey but good.
Heating in the room was loud when it came on and water in the bathroom had very low pressure and was not hot. Asked for these things to be checked but received no feedback nor were the problems fixed. Apart from the staff operating the elevators and the doormen the front desk staff were not very welcoming or helpful. Disappointing.

Outstanding location, within walking distance of Central Park, great shopping and restaurants. Perfect staff, from concierge, to front desk, to housekeeping, to elevator operators, to room service and more. Old luxury, comfortable rooms with great beds.

The ac/hvac was broken. We asked to have it fixed and they failed to fix it. One night it was stuck at 80 degrees and the other at 65. My husband couldn’t sleep and it negatively impacted our business meeting the next day.

The Pierre earns its 5 stars. Location is excellent near the park. Staff is professional, helpful, and courteous. They anticipate your needs without being intrusive. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and elegant. Looking forward to returning.

upon arrival, we were given a small room. I had booked it months ago (special occasion, and it wasn’t inexpensive). I had to complain. it was 8:30 pm when we arrived from west coast (long flight etc). we were given a great room but it’s always aggravating to have to complain and negotiate for a better room upon arrival. sometimes Reception representatives don’t use good judgment. we were staying 4 nights. just give us the best room available at the arrival. why make guests have to “bitch” about things the moment they arrive?

I loved the location, and kindness of the doormen and lift women and housekeeping
Too expensive for the level of upgrade that shows, reservation people were very unkind when asked for an extra night they didn’t respect the tariff and offer the most expensive (after 8 nights of stay). Breakfast, beverages are a luxury in prices. Not worth it.
