The Best Western Manager provided us with good travel tips. You could tell he was proud of his facility and the City of Portsmouth. Really appreciated the free parking -- a pretty rare thing for New England hotels/motels.

The facility could use some updating/improvements. The wallpaper in our bathroom was peeling and the sink drain was a bit clogged.

Old, furniture in room was so dirty I covered hair with a towel to sit on it. Furniture was gouged, nicked and look like it should have been put out on the street. Bathroom sink was cracked. Pipes in shower made noise. Room carpet was dirty. Lobby leather furniture was warm and should have been thrown out. No breakfast offered and the front desk did not tell us that we could receive a 10% discount at the attached restaurant. My husband overheard someone after staying there for 4 days. The door barely opened on the elevator. The main front desk person had a very unwelcoming attitude.

The shower door didn’t close so it leaked water all over the floor. The toilet didn’t flush properly. The top sheets had stains on them. The vending machine didn’t work and the outdoor pool was dirty and had other peoples towels all over

The staff was amazing. They took great care of us, really friendly and kind.

the room next to mine was loud all night into the morning and the staff couldn’t really stop them because apparently they were friends of the owners

Staff was very friendly. Liked that it had a dinner/ bar attached. Location was very close to downtown. Our room was very clean
