The room was nice but very hot and stuffy. It was clean had a sitting area where a fireplace was and also a TV.

I didn’t like it because it was up a steep set of stairs, which I have a very hard time climbing. Had no fan of air conditioning so it was very hot and stuffy. I thought it we would have a breakfast but all we got was two muffins brought up to our room. Didn’t like the location either. On a busy Main Street.

Location was great. The Apple Cottage provided a lot of privacy. We brought our two dogs and they provided towels and sheets to cover where the dogs may be. Also grassy area for the dogs and some snacks for them, more accommodating than most places for pets. We are vegans, so they had a nice chia pudding with fruit on top instead of muffins, nice touch.

Not their fault, but ants were very active so everything had to go in the little refrigerator.

Location was good. Trail to the beach was near to inn. Food was close by. Room was comfortable.

The bathroom could be updated.

There were most likely bed bugs in the suite. Wife and daughter suffered several bites on skin.

Nothing

Everything was as advertised: clean room, comfortable bed, thoughtful and complete amenities (including marvelous muffins delivered around 9 am). The room was solid and quiet: no squeaky floors, no noise from neighboring rooms, no plumbing problems. The woman at the desk (sorry, I never asked for her name) was wonderfully, informative, accommodating and friendly. Location was on a "corner" of the map of Mendocino with easy parking on street (or, if you opted for their more expensive accommodations, on the property). They have been importing water during California's severe drought and so offer "normal" water use -- but the thoughtful guest is invited to be very careful not to be wasteful (in fact, we have friends who opted not to visit the Mendocino area owing to this "tragedy of the commons"). Great value.

Minor stuff: stairs were steep, lighting was a bit harsh.

Run down needs upgrades. Harsh lighting, old worn out furnishings, the morning baked goods are good, probably the best thing about our stay at Sweet water inn.

Great cottage, spacious and comfortable. Friendly staff.

Bathroom is very small.

Breakfast was muffins brought to the room. Simple but yummy. There was a coffee maker with good coffee in the room. We loved the hot tub!!
