The hotel is on a beautiful location with view over the Atlantic Ocean. The general service is excellent and personnel is very kind and helpful. The food served at the main restaurant is good with enough of variety, the room was very spacious.

The hotel needs an overal renovation, the rooms are outdated. This is not what we expect from a 5 star hotel at that price.

Very tasty, various and constantly replenished food. A lot of fish ( the one with banana and passion fruit sauce was the best), seafood, fruits, cheese etc.. Good location with direct access to the ocean. Beautiful views from the rooms. Very attentive and polite Staff. Clean.

Some renovation is needed but your forget about it after few days.

Booked three rooms. Third room not close by even though we requested it. It was suppose to be partial ocean view but they could not see the ocean. They only saw people that could look into their room on the third floor.

Excellent location, nice bedroom. Great access to sea. Good value for the half board option.

Some parts of the hotel look a bit dated, no green areas around the swimming pools

The property was beautiful and clean. Staff was wonderful and attentive. Location made it easy access to restaurants and walking to the old city of Madeira. We were also upgraded to a premium suite which gave us an amazing view of the ocean.

We found the bedding pillows to be extremely uncomfortable and hard. It felt like sleeping on sofa cushions. Also the food buffets were bland much like cruise buffets. For this reason we opted to make reservations at some amazing restaurants in Funchal.

Everything was amazing, food was superb and good variety of it everyday. Staff was exceptionally helpful and pleasant at any time of the day. Rooms were lovely and clean. Great location. Overall 10/10, would recommend!

location was good, 29 mins walk into central Funchal.

we booked a Pemium Double Room . The mattress needs replacing, it was very uncomfortable. One of the double glazed windows you could not see out of. That also needs replacing. The hotel generally needs maintaining.

The indoor pool needed a tidy

Food was average, room was quite outdated, spa facilities not as good as expected (or advertised). Indoor pool could’ve been warmer.

I like the breakfast options fresh eggs, poached,fried omlete were cooked for you. Evening meal buffet had good variety and fresh fish was cooked

I did not like the lighting in the room, decoration in the room were outdated. Shower,bath and basin tap need replacing. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna was quite old for a 5star hotel no heated pool provided inside and the jacuzzi was poor

Although a good hotel it didn't have any real atmosphere. The buffet meals were okay but could do with enhancement. The layout of the hotel was strange, built to accommodate the hillside so multiple lifts / stairs to get to the pools etc. Provision of pool towels was poor. You needed to hunt out where they were given out and no drop off / replacement options by the pool. Really it's not a five star hotel - more like a four star. Some of the clients didn't seem to have any manners and the use of knives & forks was alien to them. Maybe rooms are being discounted to attract these people. Location is excellent with very good local busses and ample taxis near by. Would return as the staff are very friendly. It's just some of the guests let the hotel down.

Excellent spacious room with balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Lovely views. The buffet restaurant served very good food with many varieties. Service staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. In addition to the excellent buffet restaurant, the hotel had two specialised bookable restaurants.
