After checking in, we were advised that the floor boards were lifted due to a flood in the apartment. Having 2 young children this was a bit of a concern. Having already checked in and seeing for ourself, we decided to stay. BIG MISTAKE. The bathroom mirror looked like it was straight out of a petrol station. The manhole fell down and wouldn’t close. There wasn’t any hand soap at all. Our son (asthmatic) was coughing day and night for the first 2 days, my partner checked the air con filter and it was disgusting. I’m talking 2cm thick brown dust and mould. We told the “owner” who advised us that they are routinely cleaned every 3 months 😂 my partner has to clean it himself. At one point we lost the remote so while looking, my partner looked under the couch, it had obviously not been cleaned in a very long time. Then under one of the couch cushions, my 3 year old son pulled out a large bag of assorted medicine. This was the final straw for us. The “owner” in an attempt to cover himself advised us that he used to be a pharmacist and that the drugs looked like vitamins - any good pharmacist knows that in the hands of a 3 and 1 year old, vitamins of that quantity can still cause serious reactions; and any good business owner would have offered a refund for our prepaid 2 week stay. In stead, we were offered a different apartment, the selling feature being its own washing machine. We get to the new apartment, unpack, and prepare a load of washing. The hecking machine door won’t even open. 3 days it took for someone to be sent to have a look. We stayed in one afternoon, with 2 very bored kids, waiting for the contractor... no show. At this point we had a weeks worth of washing. The owner organised for our washing to be collected and washed. We waited until the next day to sort our washing, which was folded while wet in garbage bags. Which meant all of our warm clothes were cold and wet.
