This was a perfect place to spend time with family. We took the bus from Amsterdam and walked less than 10 minutes through the pretty neighbourhood to the house. Inside it is very spacious and bright. There was a fridge and microwave so we were able to make sandwiches and small snacks. The sitting area had a huge comfortable sofa. We enjoyed spending the evenings together chatting and listening to the great selection of old records. Beds are amazing! The whole design of the place is really cool. We especially loved meeting the friendly cat. There is a great little outdoor space too. The hosts were helpful and friendly and left us to enjoy our stay. We walked into the main town within 10 mins, and managed to take the local bus to Zaanse Schans to see the windmills, and also to get to Amsterdam Centraal. Great location!!! Thanks for having us, we highly recommend Joan's B&B.

Cozy home close to major attractions

Joan and Erwin were really friendly, with really good check in information and always made sure we had what we needed. The B&B itself is at the back of their beautiful garden, with a very helpful little kitchenette and with a great layout. The cat was an added bonus!

Location far enough from the city but still easily accessible by public transport. Garden and neighborhood are nice. The cat is the gem.

There is no curtains for the windows at living room and kitchen.

Good coffee machine. Breakfast presented with care, great & on time. Caretaking lady, Marijke, very friendly & practical. Really easy to travel to Amsterdam in 15 mins by Sprinter/Intercity train, which runs regularly; also good base for exploring region further.

No toiletries were provided, which was a shame, as it is a B&B & listed on booking.com.Property directions were not up to date, which resulted in a VERY long detour unneccessarily due to substantial bridge building works. Alley to enter is quite dark. For people with ALLERGIES: there is a cat, so be sure to ask that it is kept separate. Kitchen utensils a bit sparse-a small utility knife would be practical. BED: would be more practical in middle of room, due to ceiling beams
