The staff were fantastic. They were very friendly and made myself and my wife, feel at home and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was beautiful and very filling. We have even booked a room for later in the year.

The warm friendly atmosphere and the breakfast was top drawer.

My friend and I stayed here for a couple of days and there is nothing I can say to fault it. It was absolutely lovely! I would recommend The Almar to anyone looking to visit Scarborough. John and Julie were such amazing hosts and it was such a homely place to stay. Breakfast was yummy too.

Absolutely nothing

Julie and John are a lovely couple running a fabulous b&b. The room was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities in the room I required. In fact I was impressed by the added little extra quality touches they provided. The cooked breakfast prepared by John I would highly recommend, which set me up for each day. They have a lovely little bar which I have to say I enjoyed each night getting to know their other wonderdul guests. The b&b is in a perfect location, a 5 minute walk to the North Bay through the delightful Peasholm Park. This was my first solo time away, and was provided with a very useful map and some suggestions of where to visit which was very much appreciated! When I first read all the positive reviews about the Almar I was very skeptical that a b& can be so highly regarded. Needless to say I can now understand why they have so many regular visitors, which quickly become friends (some of which I was blessed to meet). I can not see myself staying anywhere else when I next visit Scarborough. Thank you again Julie and John for making my first solo visit so enjoyable

The breakfast was lovely, everything freshly cooked and piping hot. Room cleaned and coffee stocked up daily. Hosts were welcoming and friendly. Nice well equipped bar. Went out of their way to get me a parking space. Would definitely return.

Ideal base on the north shore, short walk into town. Clean and comfortable, nothing to much trouble. Plenty of choice for breakfast Excellent hosts with great knowledge of the best places to eat and visit.

Julie and John were the perfect hosts. The Almar was in a perfect location, the rooms we’re very clean and had everything you needed and the breakfast was superb. We loved the bar set up, very reasonable prices and lovely meeting some of the guests. Would definitely stay again.

The Breakfast was very lovely and you could,nt have asked for more.As there was enought.Our room was very clean and warm.Only one thing was wrong i throught, you could of put a chair in it just near the window.also more milk in the rooms.,
