Rustic building with so many original features

Towels were dirty, shower cubicle mid repair, 3 seconds in to a shower and tray is over flowing due to poor drainage issues Thankfully was a bed for the night, at short notice Please invest in better coffee for the rooms, nescafe original is so outdated and vile..

Turned up late at night exhausted from travelling to be told they didn’t have a room for us even though we had booked and paid for it, the money had left my account. Luckily we had enough funds to pay for another hotel elsewhere- imagine if we didn’t! And not so much as an apology from the rude receptionist. I was told I would be refunded in due course, when a few days later I hadn’t been I called to ask what was going on and the manager basically told me it was my problem not hers- absolutely laughable. Do NOT book to stay at this hotel

Location on the Halifax Road out of Huddersfield ok as I was travelling north through Halifax and Aire valley.

Room advertised as economic single for £30 so booked, then got a call to say it was unavailable and single would be £65. Room was a double and at the top of the building. Light fittings broken. No heating in the bathroom. Breakfast advertised at 08:00 on Sun morn but no one there so I rang the reception bell and at 08:20 someone finally came and said it would be about 20 mins, asked what room I was in and said they would call me. When I came down at 08:50, breakfast had been started, but I got no call. As I needed to get on the road I left.

Needed a place to stay for a very last minute plan to go drinking. I booked a single room as booking.com said there’s two available and needed the cheapest option. Drove an hour and a half to the hotel, went to check in and the man working the front desk told me there was no single rooms left as booking.com may not have updated all available rooms. The man working there was very friendly and rang his manager then booked me into a much bigger room for the initial price I was going to pay for the single. Very good customer service and many thanks to the staff as I probably would’ve had to cancel my plans and drive back home.

Car park was a bit tricky to find, maybe have a light on the car park sign whilst it’s dark?

poor service, noisy fuse box in the room was extremely annoying, and when reported to staff they simply said there was nothing they could do to help with that. couldn’t focus on my work as the noise was unbearable

Made a last minute booking and was definitely worth it. Staff were very helpful and the room was spacious and most importantly, spotless. Full-English breakfast was hot and delicious. Furthermore, free parking with a 24/7 staff monitored car park was a life-saver. 10/10 service would definitely recommend to any anyone.

It was a nice cosy room with a nice bathroom.

There were many things in the room that were in a bit of a state of disrepair. We only had one bath towel provided. Didn't look like the room had been hoovered in a while. There were remnants on one of the windowsill from someone rolling a joint on it and the room smelled very strongly of weed when we entered.

Beautiful hotel, great location, close to town, beautiful spacious room, staff was friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely time, no complaints.
