I like the live music and the adult bar, DJ and the servers. The servers were very friendly and quick. Breakfast was good too.
At check-in, room is actively flooding from serious ceiling leak, dangerous and inconvenient.
There are no other rooms available, so we are stuck in this one.
We have wasted significant time at the lobby/front desk and in the room watching repairmen work and we can't even unpack while the water is everywhere on the floors. After the AC was "fixed" Air would not stop running at full blast all night and wouldn't let us sleep.
Fridge in room still isn't working or cooling anything, eventually they changed it.
The Kids Club lost my 6 year old daughter... At 12pm noon we return to check on her, and the group has already gone to the main pool. We continue on to check on her and ask if she is having fun but when we arrive we are shocked and terrified that our daughter is not with the group, and the staff ladies do not know who she is or remember her or us when we ask them to help us find her. We split up and check the entire pool area (including slides and jumps, etc) finally finding our daughter all the way on the other end of pool, something like a couple hundred meters away. Our daughter is not a swimmer yet so thankfully she had on her life vest but had we not arrived she may have been lost, taken, or drowned. The Staff Lost our daughter. NIGHTMARE VACATION!

it was a beautiful resort and you were able to travel all three el cid resorts. This gave you more of a variety of restaurants entertainment pools, etc. there was an area that was an adult only inifinity pool that looked right out into the ocean. Also you must check out cenotes near by for $25/person. beautiful water, ziplines and diving area and caves to snorkel in. You don't have to do their $99 tour just take a taxi they hail for $45 total round trip all within 15 min of the resort depending on which cenote you choose to go to. Do your research since they are all different. Also check out the dolphin swimming which you can watch for free if you don't want to spend the money to touch them. Also you can go out at night when it gets quieter and you are guaranteed to see a coati. Lastly don't forget to go to the area at the back of the buildings near the road where you can find a crocodile enclosure. like I said overall the best all inclusive resort of 3 buildings in 1...that I have been to thus far in my travels of MX.
not having to pay for wifi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was ridiculous to have to pay wifi for four phones at $180 (you had to pay per device?!?!?!?!!!! Otherwise there was VERY BAD wifi that did not allow you to keep in touch with your family by phone when you separated. There was also no way for my husband to keep in contact with his business he owns. They don't put this information anywhere for you to see, except maybe very small print because I missed it... As it was my husband didn't want to pay another forty dollars for his computer with hotspot option from his phone. However, as a result spent WAY TOOOOO MUCH time trying to get his wifi hotspot to connect to his computer to do things he HAD to get done ?!?!?! :(!!! TRUTHFULLY IF THE RESORT WOULD HAVE NOT CHARGED US FOR WIFI, LIKE NO OTHER RESORTS HAS EVER DONE. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM FIVE STARS ON EVERYTHING!! INSTEAD IT EFFECTED MY HUSBAND ALOT IN WORK AND WIFI PROBLEMS & FRUSTRATIONS. WHICH IN THE END TOOK AWAY FROM MY FAMILY 'S ENJOYMENT AND FULL RELAXATION. I know my husband could have just paid the $40 for his computer to have wifi also. Also since this was a remote smaller town area we should expect hard to reach connections and wifi problems. I just wish my husband's business didn't require him to check in with wifi and that the resort would have sucked it up and gave free wifi.

Breakfast was great in the two places we visited.
We had poor room service.....several days of no one coming in and cleaning up, no washcloths, no water for several days.
I am sure they are short on help. We have been there 2 times before with excellent service.

We love this resort because when you stay at one, you have access to all three! We love the variety of pools available (and especially the giant hot tub at Ventus Ha). The variety of food/restaurants is good/acceptable, but was hoping that between our stay last year and this year they would've changed the menus up a bit. There are great activities around the pool, and the staff there is always friendly are always encouraging participation. We travelled with another family, and have 4 kids between us (ages 12 and 14). The private beach location is also a bonus, although the beach area does have rocks, so bring your water shoes! This is our 2nd time at this resort, but will not be coming back next year, as they kids love the area, but they want a new resort adventure.
A big con for this resort is there is a pretty big fee for wi-fi (and there is NO service in most of the resort). Most other resorts in the area do offer free wi-fi so this is a con for us. (Its offered both daily and weekly and averages 300-1200 pesos)
In addition, they have a "vacation club" that tends to get priority at seating for dinners, so often when you make reservations, the only slots are the first ones (4:30 or 5:00 and the 9:00/9:30). It was very rare that we got to eat between those times.
Also, don't fall for the "coupon book" that they hand out. In order to use it, you need to do the 4 hour vacation club tour/talk (and we all know those never last just 4 hours!)

The property was fine.
THE BEACH IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! No access most days we were there. Walked down the beach to another resort & their beach was beautiful & functional. El Cid dropped the ball on their beach in the last 7 years.
At certain bars, the alcohol is heavily diluted and exchanged for lower grade in a higher grade bottle. NO OK.

The facility and grounds were fantastic. The restaurant were amazing - especially KOBO and Aakat. Service was amazing as well. The lobby bar and music was also excellent! Infinity pools we very nice and water was heated. Main pool was great for kids and entertainment. The ruf bar at Ventus was incredible.
Dinner reservation process was very involved. You had to be persistent and very organized to even get a sit down meal. It seems like they don't have enough staff to fill the restaurants as most seemed pretty empty even though they were booked solid. In the end we got reservations on most nights.

In general the hotel met the expectations during the stay but not after it.
However, I forgot a new dress in the closet and I haven't been able to get any positive response or help from the hotel to get it back. A second incident was that they gave us back our car with a practically flat tired.

very relaxing by the pool with amazing staff that serve drinks to chairs/pool! good selection of different food. use of multiple hotels/pools in same resort. All inclusive was truly all inclusive with real cocktails made.
The location was very difficult to get out to local town. Have to get a taxi out and back, which is expensive from the hotel out.
Check in and check out times/cues were ridiculous! Waited in lines whilst reception tried to upgrade everyone for a fee. This needs to be quicker at a resort like this.

There’s no wifi unless you are willing to pay a daily fee per device. Amazing to find a resort that charges you for Internet.

i liked that it was beachfront and close to the Marina
The beach is not great

most staff were helpful! bar staff and waiter staff were the best! the rooms were big
the beaches obviously had seaweed but hardly noticeable because the staff work tirelessly every morning so it isn’t there by the evening.
the food isn’t great to be honest. i felt like I ended up eating the same thing for 10 days and I’m not a fussy eater at all. i ended up severely ill up until 4 weeks after my return. as did others on the trip. the rooms were hot and stuffy!

The food was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful at all times and the facilities were great. the children loved the cliff jump and slide as well as the adults and there was always something going on. Great hotel and experience!
The only downside was the Air Conditioning wasn’t great and the room was therefore slightly damp and felt stuffy at times

the staff was amazing and the property was beautiful and very clean
I didn’t like the rocky beach. there was a lot of seaweed and they did try hard to keep the seaweed raked up. but there was a lot and a seaweed smell

Friendly staff
The beach at the resort. Town beach much better.

The food was outstanding at all meals. Wide variety at the buffets and perfect proportions at sit down dinners. We experienced Italian, French, Japanese and Seafood.
The check in process was confusing even though I had my documentation and the language barrier did not help. I had reserved 4 rooms for 7 people and it appeared the single caused some confusion. The bottom line was that I ended up paying an additional $1200 at check in but the rooms were close together.

Huge very clean property. lots of options for pools, family pools and adult only infinity pools. Food was very high quality, with tons of variety.
The only thing I did. not like was the beach. employees did what they could to remove seaweed, but not good for ocean swimming.

language but all staff worked hard to accommodate
4.0 / 5.0
Everything was fantastic, we were able to check in upon arrival rather than wait until 3 pm (we like to travel early, this is a huge bonus!!) The infinity pool over the beach was soooo relaxing and wonderful. We could easily walk to most anyplace we went. The ceviche was absolutely amazing every single day! The spa was nice, overpriced they give free facials & Hydrotherapy with other purchases.
The buffet was limited to a degree and the food could be better, however we didn't have anything that was bad, more options would've been nice. The open buffets times and places changed - it was confusing. Dolores is the same food for dinner as for lunch buffet. No extra options.

Staff was great
Everything was awesome

I liked being with my family. I liked the cliff jump.
The staff there is horrible and has no respect at all. They always tried charging us for unnecessary things, In addition, they were very rude and clearly did not care about us. It was almost impossible to get food reservations. The beach was disgusting. You had to pay for wifi. I will never come here again, if you want to come here don't it is really bad.
